My money is that Yukes and AEW team up.  That seems unavoidable in a good way.  I'm interested to see what Yukes can do when it's not under the thumb of Vince McMahon.  They stated before they even parted with WWE that they were making a game separate from the license to do things they weren't allowed to do.  So hopefully we get their true vision with that game.  In a perfect world I would like to see Yukes get a dual licenced game with AEW vs NJPW but I know that the relationship between those two companies is not the greatest right now.

I hope we get more licenced titles.  I am a sim head so that style appeals to me but I think that an arcade style would do well, but I think an arcade style would need to be a WWE title.  I would buy an Impact/ROH title if the rumored purchase of ROH by Impact is true.  I would at least give it a shot.

Hopefully we get more competition in this genre.  I'm a wrestling fan and now that the world is connected it's easier to be a fan of indies like Evolve, Progress, MLW, Defiant, AAA, PWG, etc., and being able to catch news on ROH, Impact, and NJPW.  It's a great time to be a wrestling fan and have all these options.  Can't wait for AEW to start on TNT!

WWE 2K’s gameplay was nice IMO.

BUT..... wrestling on tv is about the drama. The Universe mode has little to no suspense. That’s where current wrestling games miss the mark.

Smack down here comes the pain is STILL better than the current games after all these years.

      Fingers crossed.

All you need is Fire Pro with mods. It is already out. No need for a renaissance.
        NFL- Green Bay Packers
        NCAA- Florida State Seminoles
        NHL- Carolina Hurricanes

The best idea would for publish to over all the smaller league NJPW, ROH, Impact, CMLL, AAA, MLW, etc. And create a best in the world game. No promotion has enough star power to sell a game, but if you do it this way you get more stars from everywhere and everyone gets more eyes on them.

Sure if you like to pretend it’s still 1996. Def cool gameplay but the pixel art graphics don’t scratch that wrestling game itch.

lol. Since when does graphics mean more than gameplay when it comes to wrestling?

Fire Pro games should look like Fire Pro games, no?

Did I say that? I don’t think a combination of both is a big ask considering we’ve gotten it in the past. Fire pro is def fun. But for me it can’t scratch the itch the same way a better looking and better animated game with good gameplay can. Right now neither Fire Pro nor 2K really does it for me. I can play both in short spurts but neither hold my interest very long.

Funny thing NJPW was mentioned b/c Yukes was responsible for the Toukon Retsuden series, which was based on NJPW, in the '90s.
If you ever attended a WWE live event (house shows and PPVs) which wrestler(s) did you buy a ticket to see? https://forms.gle/d5uh8iifDbfDBdDd8

Fire Pro on my PC is all I need.  Super fun to play, but creating and simming CAWs is just as great.  Above all, I can have the limitless roster I crave, rather than constantly adhering to roster and image limits.

2k is a good game, but I haven't touched it in months and I still play Fire pro daily.

All I need is old school wrestling on the viewing end (WWF & territories/NWA up to the early 90s and then ECW from late 93 to mid 98) and Fire Pro on the gaming end and I'm good with wrestling.
