Willie Taggart is unfortunately gone. Woudln't be surprised if Stoops isn't their primary target, then one of Clemson's OC's.

I'm shocked it happened today. I thought maybe they would fire him after the season.

I guess someone wrote a check or they had a meeting and Taggart didn't want to make any changes. Hopefully we will find out what happened.

I really have no clue who the target is. FSU has a temporary AD and all leadership is on the way out. Who knows if the booster wrote a check for the new coach also.

What I've heard is Taggart knew he was going to be canned before the game was even kicked off. They've been talking to Bob Stoops for some time now and he is the #1 target.

I haven't heard he knew or that they were talking yet to Stoops. Still trying to catchup though.

I do think Stoops is probably the #1 target. He probably keeps Briles, so no buyouts there and it continues the offense.

I think FSU is looking for an experienced hire. I also don't think FSU makes this move without having some names identified and already ensured they would take the job.

So Oregon got better after Taggart left and FSU got worse after he arrived. I'd say maybe back to a smaller conference for Willie.

I've heard both Mark and Bob's names, but Bob's was from a guy that I actually know is connected to FSU boosters and pretty much predicted it on the dot when the Taggart news would break.

I'd be ok with Bob, but don't want to go anywhere near Mark.

I'm more intrigued with Fleck or Norvell. Not sure either will be candidates, but they both score points with lesser talented players. Leach would also be interesting, but not sure if his act will work.

Some people are actually saying Richt is an option. Are you kidding me with that? The guy has been passed by because he couldn't adjust to the new offense. No reason to hire that and set an average at best ceiling.

Fleck is out, signing a new deal to stay.

Looks like Bob Stoops is it. Rumors he was on campus at some point and makes sense with the firing happening now. Rumors also say he keeps Briles and Leavitt may even stay and become the DC.

If this happens, it looks like someone was masterminding this whole thing. FSU gets Briles even though he has no relationship to Taggart. F.SU then gets Leavitt to join the staff to help out the defense and start scouting players. Taggart probably thought this was to help him as he always wanted Leavitt, but it was for Stoops' DC.

That would be something if they make that happen.

I do know one thing, if Florida State hires Stoops, it surely won't be Bob.

Bobby Stoops was at the Hard Rock Casino yesterday.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being named HC, but I wouldn't feel confident enough to bet on it either.

I do know 100% that the school reached out to him after the Wake game, but I have no idea on his interest level.

While your next coach is certain to be an upgrade, I would gladly take another idiot to be hired. You all go to see us go through Shannon for 4 years and then Golden for 5. We only got 2 years of Taggart. We need another idiot to come in and get at least 4.
