I can see why but, c'mon.... its been one season... Vick had multiple sustained years. I guess we will see what SPD rating he gets 96?

Vick was a faster runner though. Jackson seems quicker and shiftier in tight places, and probably has better vision. But as far as pure speed goes, it's Vick.

It's also to keep people talking about the game. Whether in a positive or negative light weekly roster updates gets people talking about the game which is free promo for them. Not even debating if he deserves it or not but giving Lamar a speed boost to 96 is sure to get people talking.

im not sure. You have to remember how much slower defenses were when Vick was in his prime. These DEs and LBs in the league nowadays are as quick as the defensive backs.

i through Jackson was too fast as a 94 spd i had him at 92 spd his speed is fine he needs a short mid Acc boost and better pocket awr

I tend to agree, plus its easier to play QB in the league now days, as compared to previous era, back in the days of Montanna, Marino and Elway, just to name a few of the great Qb's. Rule changes, have led to half the QB's in the league to put up Marino Like numbers week in and week out. I dont deny there is some great athletes on defense, now days, and possibly as a whole, there is probably quantity wise, faster defenders, but rule changes, have greatly benefited offenses, especially at the QB position. Thats not to take away from these top QB's over the past 15 to 20 yrs, but there is no doubt rule changes have heavily favored QB's play.

Weren't those just outliers though? Overall defensive players have been getting smaller and faster to defend the pass.

No. We aren’t talking about the 1950’s where you could say he was playing against guys wouldn’t be able to play today. Michael Vick isn’t that far removed from the game.

For as long as I’ve been watching the NFL, no, I’m not. There’s not as much new under the sun as you think. The NFL is not light years faster today than it was 12-13 years ago. Vick was a freak playing amongst freaks.

I think Lamar's agility and acceleration is higher than Vick's, but top speed still goes to Vick.
