Madden 21 on PC - worth doing?

After seeing the disappointing news on how franchise will be patch updates for M21 i am either considering getting it on PC or not getting it at all. Been hearing about some great features the PC community built but don't see many YouTube videos on it. Trying to get a much improved Madden simulation experience and have a couple of questions for the PC community:
    • Has anyone modded the face editor into custom draft classes in franchise? If so, is it easy to use like the regular face of the franchise editor or do you have to use it on the backend?
    • How is the community at building custom draft classes? Similiar to Xbox/PS?
    • Any mods for improved stat tracking (teams played for and Superbowl wins)
    • Mods for player builds so they're less bulky and more realistic dimensions?
    • Improved presentation like incorporating ESPN/FOX logos?

As well, how hard is it to mod Madden on PC (haven't done this before) and any recommendations on PCs?

Consider that the modding community has the "start today" mod which is an improvement on the m20 franchise mode. What you need to consider is "what if all those individuals decide to stick with M20?"

The community is on par with xbox/ps in terms of draft classes. The rest of what you are asking has to be done via the frosty editor which as i said, is dependent on modders adopting M21.

Put it this way...if you MUST buy M21 and you want to play franchise, then PC is your best environment to play because you obviously cant mod console games. So anything is better than nothing.

Also the player build can be changed for play now rosters using Madden AMP and exporting the CSV. I haven’t mess with Franchise so I don’t know if it’s done the same way.

Right now.. there’s no guarantee M21 is going to work with frosty. Losing the main developer was a big blow for the tool.

I also imagine a lot of us are sticking to M20.

I would say yes. Might want to wait until Frosty is up for M21, but I'm confident it will get figured out. M21 is already playing better than M20 in the beta imo.

I am 100% moving to Madden 21.. if u currently dont own a PC yet, i wouldnt make the move until frosty is be made available if ur looking for mods..if u have one in place, just get Madden 20 for the cheap, it'll hold u over until frosty is available with all the mods/tools we have now

What if Frosty never becomes compatible with Madden 21? I really do not want to give up the wonderful things you guys in the community have done, nor do I want to give up my own modifications and uniform adjustments.

Are you saying the game play and lighting is worth leaving all the mods of Madden 20 behind, or are you basing your decision on the assumption that Frosty will be able to work with Madden 21?

About the only time we disagree. I truly hope we do get it, but anyone getting it just for mods should 100% hold off. I just think there is a legit good chance it doesn’t happen. Frosty seems almost abandoned to me.

Well I hope not. I've been definitely spoiled by my zoom cam (even though it only works on half of the field) still hard to play Madden any other way. I know Galaxyman is still in there directing traffic, I know he's no longer working on anything. Hopefully Frosty will pick back up when Madden & FIFA come out. It does make me skeptical that the last announcement from Cade was end of February....

Check the Madden PC Modding Community discord, but this is just according to what I've found:

What does "on the back end" mean? As far as I can tell, you can mix and max existing faces and heads, and if you create a player, you can use the face editor, then put any player portrait (the picture it shows of the player), any commentary ID (just copying a number), career stats and so on (just copy and past other player's career stats; it's listed in 1's and 0s).

I do know you can put custom portraits into draft classes before the draft, since the one made for the Start Today mod has the portraits for the current rookie class. As for face editing, I'm not sure. All I know is what I said: you can duplicate a player in the game using the face editor, or just swap player faces and heads.

                        • C4 has classes into the 2030s, but I'm not sure if they're available outside that particular discord, which may require an invite (not sure, honestly; I got invited to the other Madden PC mod discord and I didn't even know it existed, but on that one they have C4's drafts going into the 2030s, as well as past drafts and rosters).

I haven't seen one, but I don't think it's impossible, since Daddy Leagues does it. I'm sure it could be done using Excel, but I'm sure modders have other priorities. Doesn't hurt to poke around.

I suspect that can be done, including to an existing roster, if I'm not mistaken (their body proportions are all listed in the Franchise editor, each part, with codes representing them that you can edit, copy and paste, and so on. Not sure how much it changes because I haven't tried it; I HAVE edited a player's running gate, and it actually does show up as a noticeable change [turned Jalen Hurd into more of an easy long strikde]).

It requires following instructions closely, and texture modeling requires some practice in photoshop and some trial and error to get the look you want, but it's not vector calculus.

I’m curious if the “Start Today” mod has the added/expanded 7th Playoff team/3rd Wild Card Game is already a part of that mod in or if adding an additional game like that to the schedule is possible on Madden 19 or 20.

I’ll be on PC within a week. Really just researching out if 21 is the real way to go or if enough groundwork has already been discovered and laid out in 19 or 20 mods.

I’m hoping to become a contributing member to the Madden mod community, just have to see what it looks like and get started.

Thanks for all the Madden mod community is doing!

No, we don't have that for Start Today. Pretty much the only thing we don't have that Madden 21 will have. Even then, it would be possible to do it, it's just about the issue of the seeding. Some modders I associate with figured out a 12 game schedule for the College Football season, for example.
The other issue is that even if we figured it out, it'd have to been done for each year in the franchise.
