Three Things PES Needs to 'Borrow' From FIFA

I agree KG, everything you mention is what holds PES back from being great for me especially that tactics. They honestly need to start from scratch at this point you pointed out something very important about them needing to take a more simple approach with tactics and player instructions but I still think they can work well with playstyles. An example I think of a player like Marco's Alonso who is a Full-Back Finisher which means he will join in the central areas of the pitch which is very realistic to how he plays and he does it to a tee almost every time in real life. The only issue is you have to be careful with Konami introducing player instructions that override that but also hopefully it will mean that they re-introduce the Teamwork stat again which could possibly counter that.

As far as the presentation I have no faith in them on it, I assume they just don't have the talent and resources to deliver on it as it has been mediocre since the PS2 days it was easier to ignore back then but not so much now. They could at least get down the basics like you mention which I feel like is simple. Also a better player rating system and incorporating more stats like not having Aerials won and Interceptions being rolled into the same stat.

The only thing PES needs to borrow from FIFA is its popularity.*

I agree with the article. what stood out to me, though, was the fact that these issues are not all game play related which I think would be the case if the article was flipped. But honestly, if there weren't exclusive licenses on both sides and each had to survive on game play alone, both games would be far better.*

I have been underwhelmed with the tactics in PES. I get confused sometimes and go to make the change only to remember its a Fifa feature. however, I implemented the tactics in Fifa only to see my players miss basic fundamentals like fighting for 50/50 balls or failing to come back for a pass & allowing the defender to steal if in front of them.*

while both games have issues that will make you want to break your controller, those moments happen more often in Fifa. but the presentation is so well done and it makes me forget for a game or two. *

I would really like to see them add a mode similar to FIFA's Pro Clubs. I understand that the more hardcore soccer fans want more realistic team tactics and stuff and that makes total sense but for my personal enjoyment, I think a Pro Clubs-type mode would be the biggest thing they could borrow from FIFA.

Of course I would love some of FIFA's presentation aspects to come over as well but as another poster mentioned, I just don't see them being able to do that.

They actually have a mode like Clubs YTG. It’s just that no one ever plays it because the connections (ping instead of P2P) is so bad.

Actually, there’s ALWAYS Brazilians playing it lol.
