I hope you didn't just go straight to rank or quick match ?

I just started this morning , and I plan to practice for a week offline first.

The controls can be overwhelming but if you take your time and just learn three things first depending on your play style it will come to you gradually.

    Striking
    Clinch
    Ground game.

Start with one , you don't need to grab everything in one day.

This morning I spent an hour trying to get over under. I realized that I was messing up the input . Because everyone said shoot a double leg and bail. I didn't know that bail meant to cancel with R2 .

So a lot of the time we aren't just doing it right.

    I prefer the new controls.

I tend to get intimidated by the clinch. So I'm going to take my time and learn that second.

Any questions you can ask friends here or on Twitter my dude. [emoji1531][emoji1531][emoji1531]

        Re: controls

its crazy i didnt jump online like i usually do. i was doing the story then i did exhibition then i went online i lost four fights then my last match i won by submission. what i dont get it how do you clinch? cuz when i hit r1 and a button it throws a kick or punch but when i hit it again it just an animation like hes trying to grab. what am i doing wrong? i just learned how to take down that is with l2 and square or triangle. the submission game are hard im still trying to still figure that out

Are you on Xbox or PlayStation .

Or better yet give me your Twitter let me send you a clinch guide word document.

Clinch is intiated by R1 and Square ( triangle if in southpaw )

Press R1 and square again and you go into single under

Press a kick button and you knee into Muay Thai plum

There is a detailed clinch move set guide in the tutorials . Take you time and check it out.

            You gotta relax.

The new system is actually better , press two buttons to do most of the dirty work. There at the most .

                Yep.
I'm super overwhelmed by the amount of controls too....especially the ones that toggle using L1 and then R2 for different block types. They spread various forms of doing things across a massive amount of buttons.

Anyway, while we are on controls...

How do you finish a power double, when you pick the guy up over your head and walk around with him?

i finally figure that out you move with the left analog stick then hit square or triangle to drop them down. i pick them up and i just had them in the air and im like why its not slaming then i did it again and hit square and he slam him down lol
