Tech support was right, the correct path was to uninstall the game.

So does reinstalling work?   If reinstalling do you lose existing created players?

This begs the question of why did they release the game before the current season was over anyway? I know they have a usual release date but there isn't anything that's "as usual" in 2020. They should have delayed the game, worked on a few things and come out when the next season actually launches. I won't be buying the game this year, most likely wasn't anyway. But I feel for those that did drop their money for NBA 2K20.5 instead of a true new game.

How disappointing that I caved after saying I wouldn’t and bought the game today and almost a week in we can’t even download updated rosters? Makes this game basically useless or even more like 2k20 than it already was [emoji35]

Defaulting on their NBA contract would be bad.

But I feel for those that did drop their money for NBA 2K20.5 instead of a true new game.*

The writing is on the wall for any sports game in a bridge year (all Covid does is making the timing awkward).

Releasing a game w/o roster sharing is equivalent to releasing a broken game though, and it's telling that no 2K rep has officially commented. This is something they knew about in advance.

It could very well be related to next-gen. I'd be willing to eat two months of roster sharing if the file can be immediately converted to the PS5. Yet that's probably Magical Christmas Land the way this company works. The silence is damning.

I wonder if everything has to due with restrictions from the NBA and if it does, be honest with us. I would think they would rather lose sales for one year rather than set people off for years to come. Money and greed really destroys everything.

I expect this kind of garbage from EA but not from 2K or SCEA. 2K and SCEA really seem to at least try to communicate and get the community involved.

Sad day if both companies start acting like EA has, especially if it is similar to the Madden series.

I basically only play MyLeague, as well, so I've been following this... Brian Mazique (@UniqueMazique) of Forbes had an article about this a few days ago, and in his update he wrote "A representative from 2K told me they are aware of the issue, and they are working through it. It appears 2K is prioritizing an issue where some fans who purchased the Mamba Forever Edition hadn’t received their bonus items, and then of course, there is the ongoing tuning of the shooting in the game."

The 2K support team, I'm pretty certain, not only doesn't play the games they purportedly support, but they're a third-party that knows very little about consoles or gaming in general. They love having people clear the cache on PS4s [there is no cache to clear on a PS4, but they still tell you to do it, even after you point that out (I have screen shots)].

If you contact them on Twitter, they literally avoid answering your question only to keep saying "submit a ticket", just so they can tell you through a ticket that they have no information. In fact, apparently, no one on their entire support staff has any kind of direct communication with anyone on the development team. When I submitted a ticket on Monday, the person responding told me it was the first anyone was hearing of it, despite there being dozens of people on Twitter and Reddit having posted about submitting tickets with that exact issue, so, apparently, even when problems are reported, they don't share them among their staff (or more likely, they lie to make it seem like there aren't any major problems).

I know it's a different development team, but after the disastrous release of WWE 2K20, you'd think someone at 2K would mandate that the devs under their umbrella make a more concerted effort to make sure their products are closer to being finished upon release than they are.

Their support has always been pretty suspect, but the past couple of years, they're clearly just phoning it in. As frustrating as the issues themselves are, and they certainly are frustrating, the complete lack of transparency/communication is almost, if not as infuriating.

They just responded to my ticket again, asking for "clear unedited video of the issue you're facing" hahaha. I posted links to two separate article detailing the issue, and this support rep still says they need video to understand it.

There was more to the message, it was responding to what I said (not cpu generated) but they definitely know it's an issue. The Forbes reporter I mentioned got a response from the devs, and I chatted with a "support" agent about it on Monday.
