2020-2021 Hot Stove Thread
This could be either a regular length offseason or a very long one.

Its likely just regular manager hype, but Jays said they're open to acquiring a high end talent.
Given what their team needs are, it has to be starting pitching. Could it be the likes of a Bauer? Or would they try for cheaper options like a Paxton,Stroman,Tanaka? Would obviously help the rotation to get a other top end talent to go with Ryu. A full season with Ryu,Walker,Pearson,a free agent and then the final spot could be completed for in ST would be a nice rotation to go into 2021 with. |

Of course it's a pipe dream and every team will be after him but I can picture Bauer to my Padres. West Coast guy, he vacations here every winter. Has Manny (his daddy as he calls him) and his BFF Clev. His swag/outspokenness/strutting on the diamond just matches our team and "breaking of unwritten rules" having fun on the diamond. Seems like a perfect fit.

Going to be interesting to see if both Wainwright and Molina return to the Cardinals next season. I know Yadi was interested in an extension through the 2022 season, but Wainwright has again been silent on what his immediate intentions are.

One of the biggest things I'll be watching this offseason is what the Indians do with Francisco Lindor. Do they trade him? Will they try to work out an extension? I don't believe he'll be playing for the Indians on a one year deal. My personal belief is they will trade him.
Very interesting watch this offseason. |
