Mamba edition on Xbox series S

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is not the right place, but I'm curious. I was highly convinced to buy the Series X. However, seeing all the stock problems and the lack of information from Microsoft, I'm doubting there will be any stock soon.

My main question ; I've bought Xbox one physical Mamba edition. Can I still play 2k21 next gen on a Series S, which obviously doesnt have a disc. Is the disc necessary to play next gen 2k21 from the Mamba edition?

If you bought X1 physical (#8 Kobe dunking), it comes with a next-gen 2k digital code. So you wouldn't need the disc for the S.
