What tendancies force players to shoot the ball more deep in the paint
 

So even when you put the "shot under the basket" tendancy to 100, there's plenty of scenarios where an intetior scorer will recive it deep inside and not put it up, due to late help. So what tendancies affect this?

This always confused me. I always thought shot close were those shots in between the paint and mid range

It is. Inside is the area right under the basket. Close is the area between that and mid-range. If you need help visualizing these sections just go into a game, Pause > Game Stats > Shot Chart > Press R1/RB to get to the Shooting Breakdown screen, and that will show you the 4 "layers" on the floor (Inside, Close, Mid, 3PT).

Yup. So if someone's shot under basket is 100 and they aren't shooting, it's most likely because they are actually at Close range and not Under Basket. So if you want someone to shoot around the basket then make sure that the following is all up over 50:


Shot Under Basket
Shot Close (including left, middle, and right)
Standing Dunk
