Curl Routes vs ZCV
 

Does anyone know what zones typically stop the curl routes?

I’ve had 3 instances in this game where my CB’s are abandoning their assignments or struggling to cover the curl in their zone leaving the curl wide open.

For ZCV purposes, 90+ AWR is a must for DB’s due to how they’ve designed this rating to impact with how much/well each player will function within their Zone responsibility.

Now keep in mind, this is dealing with Current-Gen, Next-Gen because of player movement, things may be different.

I can't speak to this year's version because basically no one runs curl routes against me. In the past when someone was trying it, I had success with soft squat zones with the corners backed off but underneath coverage audible. Because they started further back, the corners wouldn't flip their hips, so they would drive on the ball faster.

Also, the play receiver coach adjustment gives me better knockouts.

It almost seems random when it works and when it doesn’t. Most of the times my guys vacate the guy in their zone to cover no one behind them

If you press a high ZCV CB out of Quarters or Palms they will do a very good job against curl routes. If they are backed off at the snap not so much.
