The Most Rewarding Sports Game I've Played In Years

My team is the Braves and was playing against the Diamondbacks last night...and they were wearing me out...hitting it all over the place. Going into the bottom of the 9th I was down 8-5. This is how it all went down:

    1) Christian Pache is in the 9th hole and he draws a walk.

    2) Ronald Acuna hits a single between the 3rd baseman and SS that is barely out of reach of the 3rd baseman. 1st and 2nd with no outs.

    3) Ozzie Albies hits one at the 2nd baseman...as the ball is reaching the 2nd baseman, Ronald Acuna is running towards him...avoids the tag and the 2nd baseman has to go 1st.(first time i've ever seen that happen!) 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.

    4) Next up, Freddie Freeman...3 run blast to right center to tie it up!

    5) Next man up...Marcell Ozuna...Walk-off HR to Center Field...Braves win!!!

It's been YEARRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSS since I've had this much fun with a game..period. I don't even know if I want to get 21 right now lol!

I can't say enough about that play where Acuna Jr. avoids the tag. It was game changing and it happened the way it would have in real life. I was blown away.

I just had a moment like this the other day as well. I'm playing my Tigers franchise vs the Yankees. In the 8th inning, I was up by 3 and suddenly I get shelled for 6 runs. So going into the bottom of the 9th, down by 3, first two batters pop out. I felt all but defeated. Next two batters work a walk, then I hit a laser of a single which made it so the runners only went up one base. So bases loaded, up comes Jacoby Jones. I work the count full and was honestly looking for the fastball. Pitcher threw a hanging slider that I waited on and Jones crushed it to left center for a walk off grand slam. And what made this moment so awesome was that as soon as Jones hit the ball, he knew it was gone. He flipped the bat and threw his arms up in the air, knowing he just won the game for his team. I just love this game.

Awesome! Once in a while there are these games that just blow you away. The fact that everything can happen within the game of baseball in real life but also in the Show is why we all love this game.

The gameplay is so good even losses feel right. It replicates the struggle in baseball unless you are one of those gamers that has to win 120, or more games a year.

All I can say is they got it right...on so many levels. The crowd reaction to the homeruns...especially Ozuna's...the crowd went nuts! The team celebration of course...even the attendance...there were only 18,000 in the seats for the game because we were playing the last place Diamondbacks as opposed to the series before when we were playing the Mets and the stands were almost full. It's the best representation of it's real life counterpart than all other sports games. Man, that was one of those games you wish you would have livestreamed lol.

You mentioned Live-streaming but For moments like these Ive really utilized the Save Video Capture feature. I have a whole library full of clips from some awesome moments in the game. Walk off homers, no hitters, crazy comebacks, 3 homerun games. And when I have some time I like to go back and rewatch them all

I've never played ANY game as much as I've played MLBTS20. I'm still going at it full go since it came out. I took a break when the latest Madden came out, but Madden gets old and IMO is easy to cheese. MLBTS just has a lot more depth.

You see just about everything if you play full seasons on the harder levels. Good pitchers that sometimes gets rocked, bad pitchers that sometimes have good outings, 4 game losing streaks, 5 game winning streaks, hitters with 0-15 stretches, hitters that are on fire, average C rated middle infielders that you love that really help the team, watching a young player in AA progress and you know you're going to promote at some point but trying to figure out when that time will come...... not to mention the atmosphere, playing a game in june on a sunny day, flags blowing gently, crowd murmuring softly as you pitch in the middle of a scoreless 2nd inning ......

I used to always play The Show on default Veteran across the board. It just got to a point where everything was so easy that it just wasn't that fun always winning and having a team BA of like .350. So when '20 came out, I started playing on Hall of Fame and man, what a huge difference it was. It completely makes the game feel so much better, and I will never go back. There's this youtuber called Mighty Goat Jr who does a RTTS youtube series, and I swear he has to be playing on Rookie, bc the pitches are coming in super slow and I think at the end of one year his player had 200 home runs in a single season. I mean, how is that fun?!?!?

It was a steady evolution for me. I was a AS pitching and veteran hitting MLB 09-11 and on 12 I made the move to AS...and on 17 we made the move to HOF and this is where we have been since.

It is truly a great experience over 162 games!!!

Similar experience for me as well. I have been playing on All Star from 06 through 19, with a few forays into HOF here and there. This year though, I started a franchise with Bacon's Fictional Rosters and after about 10-12 games I bumped up to HOF across the board with default sliders except for injuries at 7 and I am having a blast.

I have also been rolling with HOF against the CPU for all other applicable game modes...just feels better...even when I miss my spot on meter and Soler destroys one to left, heheh.

Yes the 2 crazy games I have had recently was being playing as the marlins and being down 9-2 to the Nats. in the 4th innings. then just going wild and winning the game 13-10

but the classic was the pirates and Cubs games. where playing as the Pirates I watched the Bp cubs implode down 7-1 into the 8th. I got it back to 7-6 chipping away. then ended up getting in front as Kimbel blew the save. then held on 9-7

that's 2 bad teams that made huge comebacks no other sports games in history would allow bad teams to come back against good teams like that. the randomness of baseball is there. in madden you would never see the Jets come back from 24-0 against the chiefs in the 4th quarter to win.

This games makes you never give up so much realism

the key is in viewing that same experience as rewarding when the cleat's on the other foot. I've lost games like that but knew it wasn't the cpu putting the screws to me. it was either baseball, bad choices or booze. or on occasion all three.
win lose or draw, when it's time to settle up and pay the piper, it's nice to be the piper but being piped ain't no reason to quit playing

oh yeah for sure it's baseball and that's what I love it's not some comeback code that we hear about . I lost a game yesterday that I fought all the way back only to lose again in the 9th. but the effort in coming back still made me feel good.

I can go on and on...but I don't want to bore anybody lol.

                              1) My worst starter currently has the most wins (4-0) and lowest ERA on the team while my Ace is struggling.

                              2) My young buck Christian Pache isn't giving much at the plate, but he is really good in the outfield so I'm gonna keep him in the starting lineup.

                              3) Just had a guy who had an 11 game hitting streak snapped. 11 games is not a lot, but the fact that the announcers acknowledged it every game he kept the streak alive after 6 games.

                              4) When I'm playing with Freddie Freeman it feels like I'm really playing with Freddie Freeman. A lot of other sports games don't/can't replicate real life players correctly.

                              5) I love the different umpires and their strike zone variations. I was almost ready to go off last night because of pitches I felt were strikes were called balls lol. So you are forced to adjust.

                              6) I actually heard a fan heckling my pitcher after a bad pitch.

                              7) Like someone said above, bad teams can actually beat you on a given not if you're not careful.

Just as few of many things I love about this game.
