    Carry Over Franchise - 2019 to 2020

Hi guys -- Yes, I am a bit behind the times on my versions, but all these damn things like pandemics and economic destruction have kept me a bit behind the times. That being said, I have a few questions that I hope that those of you who have continually played the MLB series in Franchise Mode up through 2020 can answer for me:

    1. When is the best time to "carry over" your franchise from 19 to 20? I've been playing the same franchise since MLB 16, and although I've always eventually enjoyed the new version, there are some things that have driven me nuts, primarily how the calendar gets screwed up, and the games/series' are on the wrong days. I.e., a 3 game series will run from Saturday through Monday, after having the previous Friday off. Of course, once the current season is over, things are better. Currently I am on the last day of of the season in my franchise. Would it be a good time to migrate during the post season games? I don't want to risk having the off-season messed up by doing it then.

    2. Are there pitfalls in 20 that would make me regret carrying-over? I've been playing 19 for quite a while now, and I enjoy it very much, have everything tuned exactly the way that works for me, and have my SOTS set up for all the teams. Now, I'm not opposed to messing with my sliders and re-doing the tedious SOTS work, provided that I'm not going to find something that sucks and makes me regret bothering to switch. I've heard great things about 20, but nothing specifically about carryover franchise.

Any input you can provide would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance. )

Best time to carry over would be at the end of the offseason or at the beginning of spring training.

Anytime during spring training should be fine.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though. I carried over right after the draft without issue.

The only potential issue I can think of is that contract extensions cause an overlay bug that claim the player was acquired through free agency, regardless of how they actually were acquired. Doesn't bother me too much, but it might get under your skin. Using the extension feature is entirely optional though, you can ignore it and the game will work exactly like it did in years past.

Actually....the very best time to carry over is right before you “advance” to spring training.

Carry it over before you do that then advance to spring training on MLB 20.....and you will get the current schedule for MLB 20 and get new inter-league teams.

Once you advance to spring training it will set up your new schedule. If you do that on 19 and then carry it over to 20 you will not get the 2020 schedule.
