Do CPU teams sign players to in season contract extensions?

It's a great option but I'm careful to avoid gaining an unfair advantage over the cpu teams.

Does anybody know if cpu teams sign players to contract extensions in season?

No. So what I do is run 30 team control and before July 31st I run a random number system for their top 3 players up for extension that would be a UFA. So guys that are eligible for Arbitration or a renewable contract do not count.

0-33 they sign an extension for the full green circle amount.

34-100 whatever happens….happens. Either they hit free agency or end up resigning with their current team.

A very simple system that I only use at mid-season.

Works nicely.
