    Tokyo 2K21 (XB1 - Next Gen)

    TOKYO 2K21

    GT: Jatt Nanga
    File: TOKYO

    14 TEAMS
    ARGENTINA - 64-65 Lakers
    FRANCE – 71-72 Knicks
    LITHUANIA - 84-85 Bucks
    SERBIA - 85-86 Hawks
    UNITED STATES - 88-89 Pistons
    TURKEY - 90-91 Bulls
    SLOVENIA - 92-93 Hornets
    GERMANY - 93-94 Nuggets
    NIGERIA - 94-95 Magic
    AUSTRALIA - 95-96 Sonics
    SPAIN - 96-97 Heat
    CANADA - 99-00 Raptors
    CZECH REPUBLIC - 05-06 Grizzlies
    ITALY - 10-11 Mavericks

    The roster contains 14 teams.

10 of the 12 teams in the Olympics (minus Iran and Japan) plus Turkey, Canada, Serbia and Lithuania.

The rosters are accurate to this summer's actual rosters; this means that certain players will not be available,
but that is the nature of national team competition.

    ROSTER INFO
The goal is to recreate the international basketball experience in 2K21. This has been done through editing and rescaling all individual attributes and tendencies across the board. The idea is to maintain freedom of movement while being a more physical, execution based game where your primary reads may be taken away offensively and consistent defensive execution become more important than having better athletes.

Everything is edited: player appearance/likeness-numbers-accessories-attributes-tendencies-animations-badges-accurate playbooks-POEs-coach sliders-coach likeness.

The rescaled ratings have resulted in all players having higher than average ratings, but are necessary for optimal gameplay and player differentiation on-the-court - particularly defensively. I did not place much emphasis on sim results, so please don't expect those to be spot on this time around.

    MyNBA SETUP

    GT: Jatt Nanga
    MyLeague Scenario: TOKYO

The rosters are designed for a single MyLeague season with a knockout tournament at the end.

There are 14 teams total. I recommend placing 7 in each conference.

Since the Pool Play is different this year with the 3 groups, there is no logical way to split them up, it really is your preference. With the modified playoff rule change below, it opens up the seeding to be league wide instead of locked into a conference.

Align the teams as listed above with 7 in each conference.

Set the schedule to 14 games, playoffs to 1-1-1-1, turn off trade logic, turn off injuries and go to work.

    RULE CHANGES

    TRADES
Abolish the Trade Deadline - annoying reminders and non-immersive notifications
    GOALTENDING
Modify the goaltending rule - authentic (even though it rarely happens in game)
    HELD BALL
Implement possession arrow rule - authentic
    LANE VIOLATIONS
Offensive and Defensive Key Violations from 3 to 5 seconds - this one is preference, but it will basically eliminate defense 3 secs unless you really camp and will limit the number of 3 second counts that happen off-ball or while calling for your big man to come set a screen for you
    PLAYOFF FORMAT
Top teams from each conference are combined and seeded against all other partipating teams based on record - I really like this one and it makes it completely irrelevant which side you put each team on, but will still allow to make sure whoever you think are the best two teams will not meet until the gold medal game if they can get the 1st seed in their "conference". I tried alternate playoff set-ups but the game was crashing with only 7 teams on each side.

    REBRANDING

Team Re-Branding is up to your preference, but I have all of the 14 teams included under my gamertag on 2Kshare. The main modifications to some of the existing files were arena edits, size of player name and number, removal of sponsor advertisements and accurate accessory color for each jersey.

I mistakenly used the classic teams, so the year number will show up initially after downloading a design. Once you download the relocation info, you will have to go back into the team branding and do the following:

Team Branding → Team Identity → Delete the last letter of the team name → Press Start → Re-Add the last letter → Save

    Additional Notes:
    • Reminder to turn off autosave or save as on Dec 1, 2020 to allow for a base file in case you want to play a specific game or force-win some sims to set up the quarterfinals.
    • Have ACE turned off in your coach settings
    • Nigeria will have to be re-named (due to censor filter) and with their team name Nigeria and abbreviation NGR.
    • Some teams have dark home and some have dark away jerseys, so just be sure to make sure one of the teams is wearing white when playing games.
    • Slovenia’s new white jerseys need some work. If anyone can help out there, that would be appreciated greatly
    • Marco Spissu for Italy will need to be renamed within as his name was picked up on the censor filter.
    • I personally like to change the announcer language to Spanish to add a different element and to decrease CAP nickname use a little bit.

    ENJOY!!
