So I play with clock rundown on. I was wondering what the community thinks is a realistic quarter length with clock rundown on to mimic a real NFL game?

 Re: Most realistic quarter length?

12 min with 20 acc clock works well. So does 15 min with 13 acc clock. I use 15 and 13 because I’m a stickler for Time of possession total being 60 min.Comment

 Re: Most realistic quarter length?

15 minute 15 ACC clock is good if you don’t run a ton of no huddle.

Average about 140-160 plays per game, might end up dropping a minute or two or more accclock.Comment

 Re: Most realistic quarter length?

With Madden 12 we were stuck with 12 and 20. Then with Madden 13 I was using 15 and 15. Getting the perfect amount of plays. Then I forget which Madden it was when I changed to 15 and 13 because plays were too high. That’s what I been using ever since.Comment

 Re: Most realistic quarter length?

The best strategy is to play some games, and then count your total plays (rushing attempts, passing attempts, and sacks). I go for 120 total plays on average, although I doubt that is accurate anymore. I would assume NFL teams his 130-150 far more often now, but I have not looked up the stats.

But just decide how many plays per game you think makes sense, then tweak based on the rundown you like, and how fast you tend to snap, which are variables only you know.

Honestly, I don't use any run down. I like to take my time to look at the defense and make changes. So 10 minutes has worked fine for me, but I just jump to 11 or 12.

One thing to remember is, you really need to play the full game. The end of half scenarios alter the final tally a lot. You can't play a quarter and multiply by four.Last edited by JayhawkerStL; 08-22-2021, 04:21 PM.Comment

 Re: Most realistic quarter length?

I think Madden has done a good job with quarter length and timing and I believe 12 minutes with ACCEL clock OFF is perfect.Comment

11 or 12 seconds left on the ACC clock has ended working perfectly for me the last couple of years.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
