Back to old gen !!!

I played the next gen version from the first day, I immediately noticed the heaviness of the players and the delay of the controls, this in any mode, I often play Hut and Ranked. My players are always slower than the opponent, I often can't shoot or steal the puck. I tried everything, fixed ip, connection with cable (200/100), nothing, always too slow. In Hut I lose from much weaker teams, I have very good cards, I even paid for them but nothing, online it really doesn't seem to work. So to do a test I tried the xbox version, since I bought the ultimate edition. Miracle on the ice !!!!!!!!!! Another online game, I manage to steal the puck and the reactivity of the players is perfect, no kind of lag. I won most of the game, it almost seems that the problem is reversed, now the opponent is slower, I really don't understand, is it a netcode problem of the next gen version? Then another thing, on next gen there are few players online, on old gen at least triple !!!!! For example, in the ranked on next gen there are a maximum of 80 players, last night on old they were 255 !!! Another sensational thing is the graphics, i prefer it on old gen, the colors are better and hdr implemented better, for example at Madison the lighting is perfect while on next the lower part is very dark, as if there was no light !!! I think I'll stay on old gen, the game is identical and play much better online!!!!!

Played about 8 hours on ps4 and about 4 on PS5 I gotta say I haven’t noticed any difference in gameplay at all bro. The lighting is better that’s about the only difference I even see. Think you might have some placebo effects going on but do your thing.

Played again on next gen, no way, player very slow even against gold team.


My team is overall 92-91-85, no way to play and win a game.
But is not about gameplay, is about connection.


Back to old gen version, Hut with a gold team but no stars or xfactor.
I won every game, won 5 minutes ago, 5-2 againt a team full of xfactor and Halloween Rivals cards.


My players are fast, responsive, no loos puck, every thing is fine !!!




WHY ?????? Is not placebo effect, is about net code !!!!!


I give another chanche for next gen after the first patch, if play the same i go for old gen this time
Remember i play old gen version on series x !!!

You are most likely right as all the games are this way and have gotten similar complaints.

Madden is the same.

Nba 2k is the same.

Players feel maybe sluggish as physics and momentum are able to be represented better on next gen.

Some feel this is a detriment and others like myself, think it's way better. I could never go back and play and old gen Madden..

Also in fairness it's always been this way. I went and played nhl 09 the other day and the player movement was insanely responsive with no difference in speed or agility when changing directions and moving. It's just not realistic at all so I prefer the more deliberate way it is on next gen.

This is not about realism, is about lag or connections compesation !!


On next gen i have all fast players , Mc David, Panarin, Kane xfactor maxed, Pastrnak xfactor maxed, Crosby.....but against a gold team are so slow and unresponsive.
This is not about realism at all .
And one another important thing, i dont know about Madden or Nba
But on next gen and old gen NHL is identical, some minor graphics difference.

Not very good at all on the PS4. Sluggish as hell when you're scrolling through pages and pages of names. Even jumping around the menu screens is frustrating.

The menu screens are awful. It's amazing that they found a way to take a step backwards. Shouldn't stuff like this improve as the technology improves?
