Do you edit your CFM Draft Classes?

I have started to edit the default Madden classes in week one of each season. I DO NOT look at the DEV trait or change those, but I do edit probably 1/2 of the 1st and 2nd rounders to make them feel more unique.

For example, I'll make a WR that's more of a Mike Williams threat (tall and tough) and another that's more of a DeVonta Smith (route technician deep threat) to make them stand out. I also buff a few OL men because they are always so poorly rated.

I do this Week One so I will forget who I edited and how I edited them by the time I finally draft (it takes me a week or more to get through a season of solo CFM). I used to go back through the draft in the post draft week menu and do this, but it felt like cheating because the players were already on teams and my biases could get the best of me. Doing it week one means that even if I remember I made Player A a stud LB, I still have to give up draft capital to get him and I still don't know his DEV trait.

Edit: I forgot to add I also will change pics to make the 1st rounders look different and stand out. I change race sometimes as well.

I was just curious who else might do it, and what techniques you use?

I actually edit every teams new rookies after they've been drafted, not ratings wise, just different looks and arm tape, sleeves, etc.

It seems to add a dimension to it.

That is an important thing to do as well. Make some guys stand out when you see them. Like the real NFL, certain players have face masks and other gear that makes them distinct.

I like some things about the scouting update but I think it's dumb my scout can, for example, watch a LG but not a rg. So for what scout I have I put the draftable ones together.

Really... What's with RG, LG? It's just guard.

Tackle, end, OLB, etc... And for outside rushers it's not olb/de, it's just "edge".

Lots of old ignorant mentality still exists in scouting and it doesn't even seem difficult to fix.

I wish we could just edit the scouts. Or at the very least we got more to choose from. So annoying how hyper-specific the scouts are, and that you can’t always even hire ones to scout the positions you want.

I won't edit ratings but I will edit like who will have a star development and superstar etc..

Most first rounders I will put at least a star development (aside maybe a few superstars in the top 10)

I'll do cosmetic edits almost every draft, to make sure the look of the players isn't too redundant.

The other thing I'll do, is if I notice that the teams most likely to draft first just drafted a QB the year before, and the draft is a QB top draft, I'll edit the ratings of the top five QBs to make them less likely to go to a team that, for example, just drafted Trevor Lawrence. I only do this when I'm 100% set at the position I'm editing, and I always take extra care to not look at the names of the players I'm editing.

I edit the quarterbacks to have them fit my roster. That usually means nerfing their awareness.

I will change the draft rankings for QBs as well. It helps things become a lot more logical.

Re: Do you edit your CFM Draft Classes?

Absolutely. I use NFL. com and bring back the top prospects from years past. Two offense and two defense every year. I usually start from some point in the 1980s, then flip flop back and forth.

For example, first franchise season complete, I'll edit four of the top guys in the draft class with legends from 1985. I'll change the name, two or three of the ratings, and equipment. Second franchise season complete, I'll add top players from say, 2005. Back and forth from there, 1986, 2004, 1987, 2003, etc.

There's always classic players peppered throughout the league. As far as them becoming actual x factors, superstars, etc within the fictitious Madden league, thats on them, I don't really track them or do anything else besides the initial ratings boost during the draft.

Every now and then, I may get curious and see what they've accomplished (I keep draft information for created players annotated in a notebook, the initial team they were drafted by specifically).

I wish that ultimate team/mut could be integrated into CFM as I'd like to have access to the legend head models (if they actually use face scans of the legends, not sure as I've never played those modes, just figuring they have the head models available for the classic guys).

This is a really cool idea. I may start doing this.

I wish they'd bring back some of the players from the old NFL Head Coach game and sprinkle 2-3 into each draft.
