    Hiya there.
Offline Season Mode only player on PS4--owner of both games.
Heres my personal honest assesment of NHL 22

    Pros#
    #Has the Seattle Krakken
    #Finally a pic for Kaprizov
#Some nice visual improvemnts , brightness, vivid etc

    Cons#
#Tons of players missing and some key players STILL without portraits!
#Very buggy...Bizarre crashes and break ups
#Some terrible animation glitches (arms behind the back etc)
#Poorer player models--look great in the "Edit Player" Mode--some are truly terrible on Ice.
    #Graphics worse
    #Slowwwwww Menus (really slow)

The XFACTOR animations are terrible----the idea is a good one, but the presentation is too over the top and nothing short of obnoxious once the novelty wears off.
In short, despite the hype and fancy preview clips pre launch--the game looks worse, plays worse, and performs worse (eg playing a game on less than Speed 2 causes an erratic framerate on a 1080dp Samsung)
I am waiting to see if the next update/patch improves the game....if not, its back to my updated NHL21, which for all its faults--with a LOT of tweeking--i did enjoy.

I have the same pro Johnnydrum has, it has the Kraken, versus having to create an expansion team without a logo.

Honestly, I like 22. I only have it on the PS4 (because the PS5 has not been available for over a year, and I REFUSE to pay $1000 for a system from scavengers)... I do also think the X factor stuff is a bit much, I wish they would put that extra effort in something worthwhile versus something that people use to exploit. NHL22 had a weird post patch crash that happened after a goal was scored, which has been corrected with an update, the only problem is, it cuts to the crowd, or in my case since I use CBJ, the cannon for like 10 seconds before it allows you to move on. It no longer shows a replay of the goal, which I am fine with, I usually mashed my X button to get thru that anyway.

NHL 22 offers a good experience in Franchise or Season, it's pretty much the same experience you have had for a few rotations now, but I go by the motto "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I don't need them to reimagine a game year after year to enjoy the game, I am perfectly fine paying for a $60 roster update year after year if the game plays well. Typically when you start adding all these "extras" is when you break the game.

I do believe this game is a patch away from being very solid, and by solid, I mean adding UBS Arena, adding the Roster Share they promised, adding an additional customizable tournament (similar to what the IIHF will have during the Olympics". I have given up on customizable music like the PS3 had (not sure why this could be done two gens ago and not in the current gen), I have given up on hoping that you could set a player as being on the IR to begin the season for a set amount (like 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, etc) to actually mimic what the rosters really looked like at the start of the season, I have given up on the fact that the NHL series will never complete an accurate weekly or bi-weekly roster update with potential ratings increases/decreases as we see with other games, and finally, I have given up on the fact that the NHL series really could care less that we hate the announcers and play by play in this game, and will just wash, rinse and repeat with the current team... The NHL has the ESPN license now, so much more could be done with this aspect of the game.

Final thoughts, as an offline player myself (have not played online once this year), I do enjoy this game and I think a lot of people who play it do. It's going to have the normal gripes from people, but most games do. Right now, this game is like 50% off of the opening day price, so if you want hockey to be current, this is the best time to get it unless you would rather wait until the end of the year and get it for like $10, but at the end of the year, I am looking towards NHL 23. It's a solid (not very solid) enjoyable game, it is not perfect, it is not great, but it is hockey and it does have improvements over NHL 21...
If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.

I mean it's fun and great graphics. But no cup banner for winning cup on franchise mode. Franchise saves dissappear often.

There isn't Stanley cup banner celebration after winning the cup. Commentary doesn't talk about winning cup the next yr after u win. Franchise saves dissappear still after 2 updates so far. Game is better this year. Just problems still with game

For me its been the most enjoyable game since zombie army 4 the game play is much improved and of course roster share and at only $30 I'll be playing it forever . Currently playing the 1997 season and I'm ecstatic. Enjoy you cant go wrong for half price though on ps4 I think the graphics got worse than nhl 20 in some cases ?
Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !

I've played a bunch, multiple sim-seasons, relocation, expansion, etc., and haven't seen the franchise save vanish at any point. Do you have auto-save on?

The AI is still awful making the offline on-ice experience feel like the same tired stuff from years and years ago. If you're a casual hockey fan and don't notice just how poor the AI are, you will like 22 as much as 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13 considering the only marginal AI improvements we've seen in a decade are neutral-zone related.

Goalies still aren't very dynamic, 1-3-1 PP still not implemented, CPU still breaks the physics/cheats/can do things the user can't, defensive zone coverage still just awful at best to say the least, I really think having the Seattle Kraken added to the game is the only legitimate reason for upgrading this year.

At some point though, the community needs to stop rewarding 1-2 animation upgrades and a new year of HUT card designs with $70. This isn't a $70 product. This is a $10-15 dollar "service upgrade" at the most product. Whether that's on the devs or the suits is irrelevant, it's tiring using the same line strategies since NHL 99 in a 2021 released video game.

I haven't bought NHL 22 yet. I bought NHL 21 and made my own drea. All time rosters with created teams aswell. I was worried about little problems with 22 as its going on a new system and a new game engine with Frostbite.

For me I need a few customization and creation options like creating helmetless players for me to buy a new NHL game. The roster sharing option has been amazing feature .

NHL 22 will be pretty cheap on a couple months

So i was on the fence since day one. Usually I preorder all NHL games but with the changes made this year, new engine, game updates, Roster sharing ect. i waited until YESTERDAY.

I only play FRANCHISE and trust me this game is WORTH it..

Now is it perfect NOPR, no game is, but dont let these negative comments sway you..

here is the hard part.. You will need a good set of BASE SLIDERS, i suggest TNK. ROSTER sharing is my biggest reason for purchase. We all know that their are some fantastic gamers who put tons of hours into rosters and now its paying off. The game play is BETTER in some areas as passing is a bit harder but not overwhelming to learn and at times its crazy frustrating as the CPU for sure has some unreal POWERS but again can be learned to counter.

I have only had this game for 24 hours and now that the littel issues have been patched this game is AWESOME..

its $29.88 at Gamestop thats 65% off.

If u think u will play it more than 30 hours, its an No brainer. For me when I watch to many YouTube videos about an game that I'm interested I buy it. this year I find there isn't too much different what I can see. Wish NHL would have autosave like FIFA. I like the overlay graphics were u can see Statistic on the Ice.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Like Madden, I've switched to competitive mode instead of simulation and it plays great, especially on superstar difficulty.
