I use 32 team control by using essentially the same User Settings except I make things AUTO on the mode specific tab and then name it CPU and assign it to all teams except the Orioles who I am controlling
I tried to make a more 70s and 80s type game, lower Ks, less walks and HRs, more 3bs & higher Averages and balls in play.
My 'Storyline' is something that could solve real baseball's mess as well. A less tightly wound ball with higher seams and raise the mound an inch. Not only would that lower HRs but would be less taxing on pitcher's arms, thereby not having some of the best 'characters' and personalities of baseball on the shelf with Tommy John for almost 2 yrs
Anyway
As I stated, tried to put AUTO for CPU but after a month, found their AI was ludicrous with lienups,rotations and roster moves...so I anally retentively made those moves
THEN the worse happened.
On the cusp of 500 Hrs, the AI of Detroit traded Miguel Cabrera to the Yankees for Single A 63 OVR SP Beck Way despite the Yankees having Edwin Encarnoncion hitting .333 with 7 HRs

The AI actually traded MY player Cerdric Mullins to ATL for Charlie Morton and a AAA RP

Well, until the offseason, and I can still reverse bad trades, but trade deadline is not to be trifled with
Ok so first my setup
I used Cycloniac's TrueSim rosters based off Ridin's Minor set
I lowered most pitchers velocities by 2 mph and raised their control and lowered their K rate
I raised many hitters Plate Vision by 4 and lowered their Discipline by 4

Kidding...but I go by the adage 9 players field and hit
Oh and I also 86th the runner on 2nd rule
One issue I had with Cycloniac's roster and it is probably more the game itself...is I had 3x as many hitters than Pitchers get injured...so halfway into the season I made sure most pitchers durability was in the 60s and 50s with very few in the 90s
I edited Speed based on Fangraphs therefore Tim Locastro is ONLY 99 speed and 99 Stealing (but 20 baserunning aggression) and Albert Pujols is slowest at 12 speed
I toyed with stealing and BR aggressiveness with David Peralta as the guinea pig. See...Peralta doesn't steal...BUT he is always among the leaders in Triples
After he stole 12 bases and got caught 12 times by June, I realized my mistake
I think 25 Steal and 50 BR Aggro along with 75 speed fits him. He will get caught stealing but maybe will stretch enough doubles

My storytelling is that runners started realizing the ball was slower out of the Cs hand as well and MGRs realized HRs were more scarce and they needed to manufacture runs more, especially in AL with no more DH

Lastly, I have also despised baseball in Spring Training environments and per attendance records, so don't fans (another idiotic modern day MLB decision)
Therefore I changed
Miami Marlins to the Norfolk (VA) Tritons with a great stadium from someone on these boards I believe
Arizona Diamondbacks to Portland (OR) Beavers with my favorite stadium with a huge brick warehouse in CF with THE BEAVERS and some high risk seating on the roof
And the Tampa Bay Rays are the NEW Montreal Expos
The locations allow for the teams to stay in division (We need league customization & relocation in MLB 22)
I know the Orioles have the Norfolk Tides but Tritons is said by all announcers and has a great uniform set on the Vault It was also the best I could get near the Carolinas
