Is Madden 22 worth picking up?

Im debating getting it. I read all the reviews on it and they are all super negative but it doesnt look too bad. Is it really that broken? I pretty much just want it to run a season with the Redskins. Thanks!

I don’t think it’ll ever be perfect and a lot of the issues have been around for years, but it plays a pretty good game of football. I enjoy it.

Hey, thanks for your reply! Thats kind of what i figured, it looks to play not all that bad. I know not every game is perfect. I was reading i could always download madden 21 and update the rosters but i guess i just like having the newest game.

It’s not perfect and the new franchise updates are incomplete (scouting is meh and hampered by poor CPU draft logic while coaching carousel doesn’t work correctly), but I’m having fun and it scratches the itch for an NFL game.

Not if you are a Jets/Giants fan and want to play every game including preseason. Can’t even play the first game and save because it freezes after the game before returning to franchise hub to save. Yea I’ve tried the tricks mentioned and still does it.

I should note though that I actually do have fun playing an actual game.

They broke 2 player coop with the franchise update to where pre snap play art does not appear. If you play this mode, don't bother buying it. It's been 3 months and the only thing they care about updating is MUT.

It all comes down to personal preferences... YOU need to decide what is a deal breaker.

Me, personally, I understand what I am getting from a video game. After all, it's a video game so lack of a chain gang is not going to ruin it for me. But if you are the type of person where the "little things" like underarm hair will kill the game for you, then it's just best to pass.

Ok, so I know I have a lot of sarcasm here but really though, it is a personal preference. If I were taking advice as to whether to buy the game or not and someone says "this game stinks" my next question is "why" and then you decide for yourself.

Try it out with a rental or an EA trial before you buy it. On XB series X it was hard crashing my console several times. I eventually got it for PS5 and its just ok, but there are still a number of nagging issues.

I honestly would wait & see what 23 brings. I would buy it if it's like $10 bucks other than that I would pass. I will say movement , foot planting, & overall graphics are miles ahead from 19 & 20.

Plays very good football on next gen performance mode imo. Presentation & off-the-field stuff is cumbersome and clumsy imo.

Shortest review ever but if you’ve ever played madden before that’s prolly all you need to hear. It’s like a solid 80/100 I’d say.

I think it depends on the type of player you are. If you just like playing a football game and don't need anything with any depth then it'll be fine. If you're like me and want a deep franchise mode where the off field stuff is just as important as the on field then I would skip it.



I've skipped this season and working on my gaming backlog, hopefully 23 will be worth a buy.

If you just want to play one season with one team, then it's great.


The major failings come in after multiple seasons
Terrible scouting process (the more time on it the worse it is)

Poor AI roster management
Poor AI draft
Non-functioning coaching carousel that only really helps you.
Breakout scenarios and crazy XP boosts.



These really only become negatives in multi season franchise.

Even with its flaws... M22 is a really enjoyable football game. A lot better than 20 and 21.
