This is the Least Challenging CPU in 2k History.

Anyone else noticing that the cpu is simply unchallenging on HOF sliders? Missing Shots they should make,Not running any type of offense and smoking easy layups.I don’t know what happened but I feel like 2k is purposely destroying mynba to move the base over to Myteam or the City and it’s infuriating.

Yea that’s why I play older versions. Every new system they tout how smarter they can make the AI. But the AI is getting dumber every year. I guess it’s because they focus on online human vs human play. Offline single player is no longer a focus. This is true of all sports games though, not just NBA.

Where do you have cpu defense sliders? I turned their on ball/defense awareness & consistency/lateral quickness up to 90 and they had some games where they sucked but all of a sudden I can’t beat them.

I noticed that Play Now exhibition games are way too easy and the CPU is dumb AF. If you play MyNBA it could be challenging with slider adjustments.

I put the User attributes all at 45 and the CPU’s at 55.

In my past few games (current-gen MyLeague), I've experimented with CPU @ Run Plays: 0, taking the time pre-game to briefly jump into a scrimmage for the opposing team and set them up with reasonable freelances. The past couple 2Ks I've been a "Run Plays: 100" guy, because the preset play designs come across as more realistic than the CPU spazzing out try to make more real-time decisions, but this year, even with a good playbook, the CPU is just too easy to stop when running set plays, even by just my CPU teammates and with Offensive Awareness & Consistency: 100. With Run Plays: 0, the CPU's decision-making is a little more spastic and computer-y, but I'm seeing the CPU pulling the trigger with less hesitation when they have an opening, particularly on jumpers (with Mid-Range + 3PT cranked up, to be fair, but even with those cranked up, on Run Plays: 100 the CPU still drives right into my paint defender half the time).

Maybe this is a result of 2K focusing on defense for 2K22. Im just guessing

What’s your AI’s shooting percentage on average?

Awareness on 100 offense and defense

Consistency on 100 offense and defense

                    And defense in the 80s

Trying to make this game playable offline with the amount of tendency errors is virtually impossible. I just dont think its possible to get any consistency from the CPU when it comes to making basketball decisions. The mid range is non existent so if its not an uncontested jumper they relentlessly drive. This is very easy to both predict and stop. Its nothing like that when playing the CPU in cheese modes like my team or even the city slam. That's what makes it feel intentional to me.

Why are posts like this becoming the norm in here nowadays? No attempt to help fix problems just the game sucks and is too easy lol and then the conspiracy theories always at the end [emoji23] place is toxic now

I was about to come here to say the same

I play on MyCareer HOF difficulty and I am smoking everyone on my rookie year in the playoffs with DETROIT! Sweep against the Nets, Boston and Atlanta. With the CPU playing like crap, swiss cheese defense and player taking dumb shot, with dumb offense and missing every shot that is not wide open (even wide open they're missing)

This is so frustrating because that is not challenging at all

The cpu started playing trash against me as well, and is still inconsistent, but I jacked up their sliders and all of a sudden they started kicking my butt. The game seems to change all the time. Currently I have the challenge at a good level and I hope their daily updates or especially next patch don’t screw it up again. I spent this entire patch trying to get it feeling just right.

Oh and to raise mid ranges you have to just manually raise mid range player tendencies. I use lots of classic players so I already see a nice mid range game but raising them all around makes a big difference in gameplay.

It ain’t basketball without a mid range. Nothing uglier to me than just drives or three point kicks all game. Mid range still the prettiest basketball form.
