    Mini Seasons - Game Length

Not liking the decision to make the games 3-inning.

I don't understand the point of it. Conquest already exists for those who want to play short games. At least make it an option to play full games in Mini Seasons.

I was all about this game mode, until I learned of this limitation.

Now, I have no interest in it at all.

It literally lets you get serious rewards in a quick timeframe...what could be negative about it?

Baseball isn't 3 innings. There's already 3 inning modes, offline and online. Battle Royal. Events. Conquests. But the only 9 inning modes are Play vs. CPU (which have poor rewards and are only against live series teams) and Ranked Seasons. The only real mode in the game that even requires a starting pitcher is Ranked Seasons. Mini Seasons was a cool idea of adding incentive to playing Extra Innings against other stacked teams, but they stripped that of being the "endgame" for offline play by making it only 3 innings. It should have been the offline equivalent of ranked seasons.

Yup, 100% agree. Unfortunately, the mode is run by the "it gets good rewards quickly" crowd, instead of the "I actually want to play something enjoyable" crowd, so anything offline is short and just there for people to get over and done with so they can get the rewards

Keep mini seasons 3 innings add a seasons option with 9 innings. I enjoy a quick 3 inning game but would also be thankful for the 9 inning option as well.

I think this is the best answer. For specific missions, maybe SDS could increase the totals if a user increases the inning length. So if a mission is to hit 10 HRs, make it 30 HRs if you select 9 inning games.

Most people won't choose that option though and even though I am a big proponent of more 9-inning based content, I'm not sure I would either when I am actively working through both DD and a 'play every game' franchise.

Re: Mini Seasons - Game Length

it is 3 innings because it is DD and nobody wants to spend 30 hours completing one run of mini seasons for minimal rewards.

It helps offline players in a couple ways that conquest does not.
                1. You will finally get to be home team and see those home team uniforms.
                2. As home team it allows you to choose a stadium. There was absolutely no reason last year for offline players to worry about acquiring or creating a stadium because you are always the away team.

If this was a mode of it's own outside of DD then I would say 9 innings would be better.

Honestly, it should just be 9 inning games but only half as many of them. At the moment, it fills such a narrow gap it's almost pointless, it just replaces conquest instead of adding a legitimately different option. As far as I can tell, instead of grinding through the conquest map repeatedly, I'll instead be grinding through this instead, which is almost exactly the same except I play at home instead of away. That feels like a real missed opportunity to actually diversify offline gameplay options.

If it were 9 inning then offline people then have the choice, playing 9 inning games with actual rewards, or playing (conquest) 3 inning games for actual rewards. Instead we just have the same thing twice it seems

I'd rather never have to acquire a stadium than never have to acquire a starting pitcher.

I wouldn't even say half the games. I'd say increase the secondary awards a little (not really even a ton). Ranked Seasons is 45 games to get to the WS reward, and more than that to finish it up (assuming you actually get through 9 innings each game). A mode that takes 28 games to get through still isn't the longest grind.

I don't disagree with you but I think you're under-selling one major difference, one that is less apparent right now. Up to now, DD has lacked parity throughout the season for offline content. Whether it is April or late in the cycle when Finest is out, we've been forced into ALWAYS playing the same tired live series teams.

This mode adds a lot of scalability and variety in terms of content we've never had for offline and I think it is a pretty big win in that respect. I would like SDS to have a preset (and cultivated) group of teams each time the mode is updated with the option for the user to do a randomized repeat season (that would function as it is now) after winning the championship.

I agree that's definitely a plus, but it's a plus that didn't need a new mode. They could have just as easily done a scaling conquest USA map, or even something more intersting like a conquest map with randomly selected other human teams from the latest ranked seasons or something along those lines. It just feels like a missed opportunity to add offline gameplay variety, which is so desperately needed.

Hopefully somewhere along the line they add some reason to ever play a 9 inning game, as it's pretty ridiculous to have a baseball game where you aren't ever encouraged to play an actual baseball game.

How does it replace conquest? Conquest is still there with hella rewards? I want my Ultimate team modes to not require me to play 40 minute games for advancement.

If you want 9 inning games, you could go play Franchise.
