Is 30 team roster control possible?
I’m new to The Show(XBSX). Is there a way to control every team’s roster throughout the entire season? Thanks for any help. I was going to get the game last year but I’ve got a chronic health condition that didn’t allow for it. 🤙🏻Tags: None -
Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
Yes, you can also set up two different profiles one for your team and one for all the cpu teams, as far as trades, injury management etc.. is concerned. There is a guide around here somewhere that walks you through the process, but it's really not hard to get it set up. -
Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
I've never really understood the two-profile system. If you want full roster control why would you have two profiles, just use your one profile and control all the teams. Isn't that sufficient?Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
It just depends on what you want to be auto and what's not. Having two profiles allows for example, callups to be manual for you and auto for them.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
Right, ok. Makes sense. I have manual everything because I don't let any team do anything during my season. So that's why I didn't see the need for two profiles. Got it.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
30 team control definitely possible and very immersive. It takes some work, but I like the work. Makes the real MLB more meaningful because I know all the players form messing with rosters and BO. In Franchise if I need a break from my fav team, I just switch for a game or two.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
The Show has always worked the following way even going back to the PS2...
the game will always mess with your lineups from spring training to regular season -- even with full control -- unless you remove everyone from the 40 man roster except the 26 guys on the starting MLB team. When you set the teams like that, the CPU does nothing to lineups or rotations. So, what I've always done is taken the roster I like best and then set to work removing the lowest rated players on the 40-man to get to 26. There was even a roster maker on PS3 that used to release his roster as a 25-man only roster. But I dont know if I have the patience this year, and my way of managing rosters in sports games in recent years isn't as strict for various reasons I won't bore anyone with.
So, long answer short... The only way to have the game not mess with lineups or rotations, even when you control all teams, is to cut the 40-man down to 26 yourself before starting a season.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
This is what I’ve been doing for years with the team I use. I have a profile that’s mostly manual for my team and a mostly auto one for cpu teams. I like to let the cpu do it’s own lineups/rotation/bullpen/call ups/injury management etc. I set my 26 man/lineups/rotation/bullpen for my team before starting a franchise so it stays how I set it and leave the cpu teams at 40, so all cpu teams set their things at the start of the franchise. If you feel you need to always have real life lineups, rotations etc. you’ll be fiddling with it non stop every day.The Show has always worked the following way even going back to the PS2...

The one thing you HAVE to do is add players to each team’s 40 man before starting a franchise, because they will NOT use them. Anyone on a team’s cpu auto profile that’s not on their 40 man will not be put on a roster. I add to each team’s 40 man based on overall ratings and go over 40 so you can auto fix each team roster and it’ll set everything. This is all done during roster creation before starting a franchise. I release/trade/sign players for them throughout the season on the day the transactions happen.
It’s not perfect but it’s the best system I’ve created. There are some smaller bizarre things I haven’t found out how to fix, or can’t be fixed, like pitcher ratings changing based on if you view or don’t view the ratings on the starting pitcher select screen right before a game. Cpu putting players on waivers even with that set to manual in their profile. The cpu teams showing the 3 management types as being manual when you’ve set that profile to auto for them (it does stay on auto even when it shows manual). Player rating changes throughout the season based on performance resetting to 0 if you edit any rating category.
It’s been the same glitchy things in the game every year so I know it won’t ever be fixed. I just accept it’ll be like that and go “good enough”.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
I really just want to manage transactions for all teams. I have horrible ocd and if a player is on the wrong team’s roster it will keep me up all night. I should have clarified that in my original post. Sounds like you’re going for something similar. This is what I’ve been doing for years with the team I use. Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
Likewise. But I don't bother having two profiles like everyone else because unlike everyone else I dont WANT the CPU doing ANYthing I don't approve of so that I can mirror real life. Can't stand fantasy sports elements in my sports games at all. But I'm a bit less strict than that sounds which is a technique I began about 6 years ago with all my sports games because before that I was super meticulous and would never finish seasons.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
Well…I just started a franchise for the first time. After setting my team to 26 man and the profile to manual, it’s starting spring training at 40 and redoing my lineups. I guess that’s a new thing they broke this year.Comment

Re: Is 30 team roster control possible?
You have to LITERALLY remove everything BUT 26 men from the 40 man. Your 40 man should ONLY have 26. Not just the MLB team.Comment
