Re: Some New Info
Good info here, it's not that big a deal but the title should be college football 24.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -
Re: Some New Info
Goof info and it reinforces what I've believed from the get go. We will have named rosters and every FBS school in the game. Once NIL became a thing, it would be marketing suicide for any school to not be in the game. To not allow their players the opportunity to be in the game and benefit while other schools did would be a nightmare scenario.
I anxiously await to hear the other news he was hinting at. I'm also very interested in seeing if we can expect all stadiums in the game next year. I would like to think so, but you never know. It is a lot of hard work to build a stadium for these games as he said, but they do have the ability to potentially use many of their assets from NCAA 14. Some stadiums have changed too much, but many others have had no changes or minor changes that could be done. And I would assume they're like any other game company out there and the assets in the game were not the higgest quality versions they had on hand. It is likely they had much higher quality stadium models for all stadiums in 14 that would look very good today with modern textures.

Re: Some New Info
The Extra Points newsletter put out a new one today, mainly about EA College football.
Some bulletpoints.
1. Release is still expected for Summer of 23
2. The most recent correspondence from EA to the schools (which apparently was February) regarded band songs, crowd chants, and potentially other music cues. They're trying to get school specific crowd chants, or music/cadence so they can try to recreate them as accurately as possible if there's no audio available.
3. They're also trying to accurately represent helmet stickers and how teams distribute them. The example given in the letter was Ohio State. Their helmets would be clean and empty at the start of Week 1, and by the end of season they'd be covered in Buckeye stickers.
3. According to the February correspondence, there are over 120 institutions willing to participate, but the remaining holdouts HAVE submitted stadium and musical assets, so that that stuff will be ready when they do sign on,
4. It's been said, but every FBS member and the new teams promoting from FCS.
5. EA wants player likeness for every player. There's optimism for a group license to be announced sometime this summer. If for some reason they're unable to secure player likeness, some FBS schools might not make it into the game, and THAT game wouldn't include roster editing.
6. There will be DLC, likely part of the Ultimate Team mode that will also be in for sure.
7. The schools will be paid on a Tier basis, the Tiers being based on Total AP Top 25 finishes over the past 10 years. Obviously some schools are pretty pissed about that.
8. Dynasty Mode will be in, and EA is very serious about updating it to "how college football has changed on and off the field" since the last game.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 06-17-2022, 11:10 AM.Boston Red Sox

Music to my ears. Literally waited almost 10 years for this moment to come.Comment

Re: Some New Info
I do like commitment to try to nail down the traditions and atmosphere part of college football. Even if you don't like Madden(which I can't get into for some reason), CFB being built off its foundation, allows CFB to focus on other aspects of the game.
As the article states, EA is still waiting on a single entity to represent the players to negotiate the group licensing. If I were to guess, we'll start hearing something about it once the season concludesComment

Re: Some New Info
I wonder how EA will deal with players being kicked off teams or transferring. What will happen to that spot on the team, will they do the max per team for players allowed and can we please get back the weather channel.Comment

Re: Some New Info
Would love for the actual weather forecast at kickoff to come back. Was always a nice little touch.PSN: ptrickelComment

Re: Some New Info
There's likely to be language in any deal the players sign that if they break any sort of code of conduct or do anything that could make EA look bad, then they're cut from the game.
It would be a huge oversight by the lawyers involved if they have no contingencies in place for when players get in trouble, get kicked off their teams, etc.

Re: Some New Info
Reading about the DLC has me thinking..
Would people be willing to buy classic college team DLC? Of course we’d love these to be included in the game, but realistically they won’t be. Classic teams are a thing of the past. But I would 100% be willing to buy DLC of classic college teams of years past.
I realize the roster sizes are much smaller, but I’ve long been jealous of all of the classic teams in NBA 2k and hoped for the day that football (and baseball) games would follow suit.

Classic teams for us in Play Now? I don't know if I'd pay for that. If I had the ability to start a dynasty in a past season with accurate classic teams. I'd be all over that.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Those are the only teams I bother to use because I'm a huge fan of the older era of sports.
Hopefully if they go that route they don't just throw rosters out there and try to sale them to us with a lack of quality. In years past they rate every single player 90 or higher.
At the end of the day I'm hoping they just allow editing as I prefer to do my own retro rosters.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD
