    PS2-Call this a diary/research/compare/contrast, fun experience thread

Feel free to add your own stuff.
Just a random thread to say some stuff that happens in a game or how you set up a dynasty. Post a pic of a ps2 created team, sports illustrated covers. Funny cool diary of stuff. Odds and ends.

( how come thereS no old gen NCAA section, like Madden)

My first stuff... Who knows how much I'll play each one, but I'm making more than one dynasty in 2003 and 04. So can have one more pure and another with all the 1AA teams instead. Maybe another with multiple created teams.

I'm disappointed that in 2003 you can't play ALL/ANY games in dynasty you want to. So I coach 10 teams to have more freedom.

2004, I added all 1aa teams , I kept most stories, big time schools in, like Florida state, Penn State, Alabama, Miami. So of course all those schools are top 40 preseason.
Miami was ranked pre season number one. So I simply made them lose first game to shake things up.
The cover the next week was hilarious.
In 2004, I think I want to make the Maine black Bears big.
2003, I really like how the Norfolk state Spartans uniforms look on Field in game.
Great old school green and yellow. Combination Jets/Packers look.
    I love Prairie views helmet.

NCAA 04 doesn't have save replay?

    I was Michigan vs Iowa.

I threw a long pass that was intercepted. My Receiver tackled the Iowa player. Iowa player fumbled. My Receiver got up picked up ball and ran 5 yrs for TD !

I don't think I've ever seen that before.

I, on purpose , had number 2 Oklahoma lose to North Texas. Just to see the Sports illustrated issue the following week.

I'm playing 2003/04/05 , all at the same time more or less.
Played 2005 the last couple days. Yeah, seems passes are harder to complete..guys just drop them .
But if you keep a game close, just throw the long ball to end the half or game and they seem to complete lol
Meanwhile, the CPU threads the needle pretty well

Seems to be the case with 06/07 too.

I just like the look and feel of 03/04 mostly so far.

I'd like to buy 10/11 at some point

You know what? I'm kind of thinking I'm fascinated with the idea of being west Virginia in a dynasty and using Pat White.
He was the bulk the ps2 years and pretty much like Vick

            Middle Tennessee state.
            In NCAA 08/09

They have red trim on their shoes..oops.

Also in 08, the central Michigan jersey has blotchy grey numbers.

              I've been playing 06 lately.

Just seems so lightweight compared to 03/04.

Players dart around like little ants. Like ng ball seems easy.
Yeah, I know,, sliders this and that etc..

But 04 just seems more pure.

My favorite PS2 was 09. Really solid gameplay with all the newer features. Give it a try, you can get it cheap these days I bet.

I have it. Just jump the snap is a pain.

I like the scrimmage as opposed to practice , to see teams in action. But I can't say 09 is a favorite

For NCAA? Aren't there only two?

                        NCAA 2004.
I have 3 saved dynasties. Various teams to focus on and created teams.

Im just playing any game I like during a week, even if I didn't coach them.

I'm thinking of going 7 minute qtrs.. a comeback has to be at least a little possible. 6 minutes seems too short.

I personally put up kicking sliders quite a bit.
That kicking meter is weird and too fast or something and my kicks are weak .

I really like 03's gameplay the most I think. 04 and 06 are really good too. Especially with the modded 06 version. 07 was pretty memorable to me for some reason.

I enjoy 09 and 11 for the updated animations, super sim, and added features as well. Wish we could blend them all.

I had fun on 2003 with SMU—cool uniforms. Lack of options and some scheduling quirks kept me from continuing to enjoy.

2005 is a blast. Big chunky lineman and an almost arcade presentation, with college flair! The conferences are in a weird limbo too, which I like.

06 is the winner, all things considered. Every version after that has a packed dynasty crowd which is no fun if you're trying to build a program up. If I could play on PS2 and pull uniforms from the newer PS2 games and use them on 06 like you can on the emulator, I'd be in heaven.
