Will Madden 23 support 120 hz on PS5 this time around? - Operation Sports Forums

Hey everyone,

We’re excited to announce that we have launched our own official Operation Sports app. It’s available on the iOS App Store and in the Google Play store:

For those of you who have been around these parts for quite some time, you might know we’ve had an app before, but the Tapatalk app was not “official” and was only a way to look at the forums on your phone. However, when the forums changed in any way, it would make that app a bit unwieldy/buggy.

It was still better than nothing, and we’re grateful it lasted as long as it did, but we did not have much control over it or ways to update it. With our own official app, we’ll be able to actually release app updates that can include new features and bug fixes.

On the app, you will be able to scope out both the front page and the forums. Since this is only the start of the app, we are aware of many known issues, particularly around the forums, and we plan to add more to it in the future based on your feedback. In addition, it may take a little longer than usual when you log-in for the first time, but it should not be the case after that initial log-in. With all that in mind, we’ll have a spot on Discord where you can provide feedback.

For example, I want to add more to the forums side of things so you all have more options when making posts and threads on the app, and I want you to more easily be able to navigate large threads with many pages of posts.

As always, we can’t do any of this stuff without you all, so thanks again for the continued support. This app along with the Discord are a couple of the steps we have taken recently to try and bring this community together in as many ways as possible, and we plan to deliver even more on that front in the months ahead.

Will Madden 23 support 120 hz on PS5 this time around?

We all know series x ran 4k at 120 hz on madden 22 vs ps5 4k 60 hz. Has EA stated anything on this for Madden 23?

The beta runs at 60 in performance mode, so I doubt anything will change.

It is 'Optimized for Xbox Series X|S' - but that's boilerplate language as to what it means and differs per title:

Games built using the Xbox Series X|S development kit are designed to take advantage of the unique capabilities of the Xbox Series X|S. They will showcase unparalleled load-times, visuals, responsiveness, and framerates up to 120FPS.

sucks because I got both consoles and I wanted to go ps5 for haptics, but the 120 hz makes me want to go xbox again :-/

Idk why but I swear it looks better on Xbox, plays the same but graphics I swear are better on Xbox.

It’s sort of nuts these console discrepancies still happen, even if I don’t know a dang thing about programming. During the PS3/Xbox 360 days, this was a thing too. I remember Madden 08 ran at 60fps on the Xbox and 30 on the PS3, and while the game was trash on both consoles, the differences in smoothness were apparent.

At that time, you’d hear scuttlebutt that Xbox was the lead platform in-house at Tiburon and then ported to PS3. I thought those days were over but alas.

I got the PS5 code on Twitter relatively early, then tried the Beta on the Series X yesterday after they finally emailed everybody that signed up online. It might be that I am playing the PS5 on a LG Oled, and the Series X on a Samsung Qled, but I feel like the PS5 version looks and plays better. I was planning on getting it on Series X but am having issues deciding now.

Ncaa 14 looked much better on 360 than ps3.

Yea I have an 21 LG C1 and it looks smooth. Haven't seen the difference in person from an Xbox since I don't know anyone that has the X or s just the 5.

Crazy how u can play the show 22 and get 119 120fps on load up and throughout gameplay yet madden has issues. EA is just bottom of the barrel with sports gaming at this point and it's sad it's become this bad.

Although it would be nice to have 120fps on PS5, the performance mode is still smooth enough in my opinion. At least Madden gives us a performance mode with 60 fps throughout (cut scenes & gameplay). Every game should offer at least that. The jump from 60fps to 120fps isn't as drastic as the jump from 30fps to 60fps. NBA 2K is still out here giving us 30fps cut scenes & replays smh.

That's true. I just don't get the cause or confusion, as to why it's split on consoles. The thought of time was taken to tune one but not the other is the concern.

The series X is more powerful than the PS5. Also, MS waited for RDNA2 feature set to be finished by AMD before finalizing their system. Those optimizations help the Series X get a little "extra sauce" over the PS5.

I have the beta on both ps5 and Xbox series x, it runs much better on Xbox. I don't have a way to confirm, but it looks 120fps gameplay on Xbox, 60fps cutscenes. Ps5 is def 60fps
