Is Madden even worth it on PS4/XB1?

I bought the last 3 Maddens but it seems like PS4/XB1 will no longer getting the "improvements" on Madden like fieldsense or last year's dynamic gameplay. Is it even worth it now to buy madden on old gens? I don't plan on buying a current gen anytime soon since my One S works just as good as a Series S.

Probably not. You can always do the free ea play 10 hour trial though.

IF I get the "itch" to play a football game, it will be one of the older games, nothing has been mentioned at ALL about any improvements to 23 that I've seen.

Hell HFA was around last gen with the NCAA series, so not sure why it has to be left out of the ps4 version, and based on what Ive read in beta thread, there doesn't seem to be anything that I'm missing out on anyway.....I'm sure as hell not going to pay 60 for a roster update.

Yeah, I almost started a thread to see if anyone did the PS4 beta. I'm curious if it's just a port without new glitches. That would actually be okay with me for the time being, as I like my sliders for the moment.

This is how it is with pretty much any sports game when a new generation of consoles comes out. For the first iteration on a new console, the version for the old console might get some love. But after that it is pretty much roster updates and minor upgrades.....which isn't always a bad thing. No major changes means less chance that something significant breaks, and some issues might even get fixed? If I recall correctly, there was a group of die hard NCAA fans that said NCAA11 on the PS2 was a hidden gem......the 6th edition after the newer console had come out.

I would say it still is for PC with mods and all, but I don't see an advantage on console.

Absolutely not. If you’re getting the old engine, for the love of all that is good in the world, get it for PC (and it’s 2022: if you don’t have a good gaming PC with a tv hooked up or a ginormous monitor, you are living in the jive, radical past, dude).

Benefits: better fps, graphics, and access to mods at some point.

Drawbacks: Only one: fewer people to play against, due to so many poor souls living in the past.

M07 and M08 for the PS2 and Xbox still have cult followings, too. M08 even introduced a brand-new mode: Fantasy Challenge.

madden on pc is not a demanding game, it can be maxed out with 5-6 year old hardware.

source: me maxing out madden on my 6700k and 1060 6g.

There is absolutely no reason to turn this into a debate about what consoles people choose to play on.

Not everyone's priorities will always align with yours. For some, the cost of a new console or a PC may not be worth the investment right now.

Either answer the question if you can or leave the thread.

Well, um, I can’t find a PS5 for face value and don’t feel like paying a premium to get one online. And I use a Chromebook, so I have no options other than a lowly PS4.

I guess that means I’m not a dedicated-enough gamer. Sorry.
