Why does John Olerud(1B Seattle Mariners) wear a batting helmet instead of a ball cap when playing in the infield? I always wondered about this.

just kidding,
i heard that he had some sort of a head injury in college. but i'm sure there's a mariner or blujay fan that knows the whole story.
maybe he just got used to wearing a helmet from his days of riding the short bus to school. -
