Re: Expansion
do you think there is any chance an expansion mode makes it into the game next year? with the minor league depth and true to life roster rules in this year's edition, much of the foundation seems to be in place to create an expansion franchise. it was the highlight of all star baseball back in the day, and i think most users would find the feature very entertaining.Comment

Re: Expansion
I would love to have expansion as well as a create your own league feature, so you can put teams in diff divisions, leagues etc... also start the league fresh with no records yet.Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

Re: Expansion
Anyways I DO think New Orleans can support MLB if there's a retractable roof stadium near the party district etc etc. The Saints have done reasonably well for a franchise that has been a consistent loser for most of their existence.

Re: Expansion
I'd rather see them contract before they expand honestly...and I don't want them to contract."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: Expansion
That's my feeling to be honest but I went with the premise of the thread. It's just that I can't think of any teams off the top of my head that are in dire need of contraction. Even the candidates from the last few years (Marlins, Twins, Rays, and Montreal before they moved) are in much better situations now.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Expansion
I highly, highly doubt that baseball expands. We have a lot of teams struggling with attendance already.
And to mention Florida teams when the Marlins and Rays have horrible attendance, lol.
San Antonio won't see a team, Texas isn't big on baseball.
It is a lot harder to gauge where a baseball team will be than a football team, because of the lack of interest now a days in the sport.
If expansion were to happen, I would guess a West coast site, Sacramento? Portland? to make the AL West 5 teams, and possibly a team in Oklahoma City, maybe Indianapolis.7 National Championships

As for New Orleans; The Saints draw well, but the Saints only play 8 home games. The New Orleans Hornets finished 19th in the NBA in attendance attracting an average of fewer than 17,000 per game. Over 81 home games that figure starts to resemble the Montreal Expos numbers and we all know what happend there.Comment
