GO STROS! Seriously. How sweet would it be to beat the Bravos and then play the Cards for the World Series berth ?Twitter

I fully expect another 5 game series in this one.
I'm rooting for the Braves just because of all the youth on their squad. Plus, I'd be interested to see Cardinals/Braves since those are the two fan bases down here in Mempihs.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

This is going to be a close series.
It will be interesting to see if Hudson can step up in the playoffs.
I'm picking the Braves in 5.Comment

Let's go Braves! Man, it's that time of year again. Hopefully Division Title #14 will produce the same result as #4, and this is the beginning. I cant believe the Cubs couldnt help out Philly in their quest to at least FORCE a 1 game playoff. Props to Philly for sticking in there and doing their part, but it's now a 4 team race in the NL.
I'm honestly scared ****less from the Astros. I guess it'll be Pettitte/Clemens/Oswalt in Games 1 through 3? Christ.
As for the Braves, everything has to be clicking. Our pitching and defense has let us down in postseasons past, but I think this year, the key is to keep our offense running. With all the young guys on the squad, it's imperative that guys like Francoeur, Johnson, Langerhans, etc all get it going.
I cant wait!
EDIT: Just looked on the Braves site, and no time is determined, but Pettitte and Smoltz should be the starters. Wow, what a showdown it'll be! I'm pissed that the game is on Wednesday though, because I'm at school from 11am to 5pm (Pacific) so it knocks a dent in pretty much all the times the game could be started at.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 10-02-2005, 04:41 PM.Comment

I think the 'Stros will win it in 5. Pettitte, Clemens and Oswalt. That is a SCARY three-man rotation to face in the post season. If that trio gets hot, the Astros can easily win the whole damn thing this year.
Also, I think the Braves will finally show their youth a bit in this series. They have a good amount of vets with post season experience, but soooo much youth.

Go Andy Pettitte!
I'm hoping for the Astros to go to the world series in the NL.

I see your point here but I think the Braves MIGHT pull it out. The young guys give that team an extra pep and bounce to their step. That's the one great thing about the Braves. They've always had guys that are new to the whole postseason thing in big roles.Originally posted by ehh

Whoever chokes the least in the All Time Choker Series will win. I see the Young Guys from the Braves being the difference and the Braves win in 4.President of the Devils Den

Re: Astros vs Braves (NLDS)
Yeah, Houston has good pitching but Smoltz, Hudson and Sosa ain't too bad either. If Sosa is the third starter that is. If he is not and it's Horacio or Thomson, Bobby Cox needs to have his head examined. I think he's a great manager but he'll pull crap like that sometimes. Sosa has been outstanding and deserves it. I think the downfall for ATL this year will be the bullpen. It is really unreliable right now and if Houston has a lead late it's pretty much over with Lidge coming in. I hope like hell the Braves can make it through this series and maybe having youth and energy on their side for once will be a good thing. This is not the same old "business as usual" Braves teams from the past. There's a lot more emotion to this team. We'll see.Comment

Game time is announced as 4pm ET/1pm PT on Wednesday. I actually like this slot, because on Wednesdays I'm off between 12:30pm and 2pm (can catch the first hour of the game) and then get off at 3:05 till 3:45 (can catch the 6th, 7th, and maybe 8th). We'll see what happens.Comment
