It's terrible how Doc threw his life and career down the toilet. Doc Gooden as a 19-20 year old kid was the most awe inspiring guy to watch on the mound at the time. People were talking about him being the most dominant pitcher in baseball for the next 10-15 years and possibly challenging Ryan's strikeouts record.

It's truly sad and pathetic that his demons have reared their ugly heads again and I hope that in time he can overcome said demons.

Drugs aren't easy to kick. People think "Just go get cleaned up, you've got all the talent in the world" It's not that simple. It sounds that simple, but it's not. I don't think it's "pathetic" that the guy is hooked on drugs, I do think it's a waste of bleeping talent though.
