You say that now but if they come up empty it'll be a wasted season in some respects. I hate to be that kind of a bummer but you and I both know that's the case and the Boston media will hit them hard.

That being said, this is one HELLUVA Red Sox team.

EDIT: This is also the 5th straight game against the Pirates in which the Cubs have scored exactly 1 run. Stranger than fiction.
Our son and I were discussing this the other day about the Cubs having a day off, etc... I thought he had a interesting thought. He said, dad, you do know that if you continue to play without a day off, there is a thing called adrenaline and when you have a day off, that adrenaline can disappear.

Not a bad theory.

As expected, Jays fans booed Osuna in his return. I'd say about a 90-10 split in reaction. Most of those 10 seemed to be Astros fans.

Obviously for different reasons, but can't remember many former Jays getting booed in their return, especially like that.

I mean, it's a better explanation than what I got...which is basically a big, fat question mark. Doesn't really explain why the Cubs have scored just 1 run in 5 straight games against the Buccos, which is pretty absurd.

If the Cubs choke away the division to make their lives harder in a 1-game winner-take-all wild card game, then I will just laugh. To hold back the tears. But, if the Cubs don't win the division, your squad will definitely have earned it. The Cubs have had every opportunity to salt the NL Central away and just have not done anything with it.

Re: 9/24 - 9/30 Game Discussion Thread

I'm probably in the minority. But I'm ready for the season to end. Dont want to see anymore of the Yankees players getting hurt.

I wanna be fresh and healthy for October.

Also it ****ing blows the A's and Yankees have to play in this one game gimmick. Even though both teams have better records then every division leading team in the NL and Cleveland.

But it is what it is. But it sucks. Shouldn't be decided like this.

Re: 9/24 - 9/30 Game Discussion Thread

Brewers went through 9 pitchers and won the 1st game vs the Cards, big win.

It was a thrilling game all the way to the last out.

Yelich and Baez should be co-MVP's in the NL because they both deserve it.
