For once I'm glad the Braves don't get to shop in the "high priced" section of the Free Agent store...don't think I could watch him 162 times.

Braves have a lot of $$ to work with for once...should be interesting.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Las Vegas installs Red Sox, Astros as co-favorites for 2019

Quote:
The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros have been installed as co-favorites to win the 2019 World Series, heading into an offseason that could see impactful free agents change teams and shake up the odds.

The Red Sox and Astros, the past two World Series champions, are each listed at 6-1 at the SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas. The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, two potential landing spots for prized free agent Bryce Harper, are each 7-1.
No surprise there, both teams are stacked.

The Blue Jays aren't projected to do much this offseason however there's the thought of moving Smoak, Sanchez and Stroman (or any combination thereof) so we'll see what happens on that front. The Jays will be looking for reclamation projects and I could see SPs like CC Sabathia or Lance Lynn being on the Jays radar as well.

Bracing myself for disappointment and Hal saying "we feel confident in the players we have"...

Interested to see the numbers for Bryce and Manny, curious how those deals play out. Was talking it over the other day and was thinking if someone might offer one of them a 10 year deal, frontloaded for something like 300 mil, with 100 mil paid in the first 3 years, and an opt out opportunity, and then another 100 mil over another 3 years, could let them cash in really quick and get back on the market a la NBA contracts.

The Dodgers being linked to Harper is no surprise due to the proximity to Las Vegas. Problem is we would have to figure out our OF situation before we sign a guy like that. Would we trade Puig or keep him if we signed Harper? Would be a nice OF with Puig, Bellinger, and Harper.

Do we keep Beillinger at 1B and move Puig to CF so Harper can play RF? a lot of roster shuffling would have to happen if we signed Harper no doubt. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in LA, but highly doubt LA pays the asking price. They let Greinke walk to the highest bidder and wouldn't be a shock if Clayton opts out and they let him walk as well.

I'd probably lean towards Bellinger at 1B, Puig in CF when Pederson is in LF but Puig in LF when Taylor plays and let him man CF. Move Muncy to 2B, Seager comes back at SS and let Machado walk with Turner at 3B of course.
