Re: 2019 Spring Training Discussion Thread

Hate how Jays only have 2 home broadcasts for all of ST. Not as enjoyable watching ST broadcast when you're just listening to other team broadcasters talking about their own team 99.9% of the time, as they should be because it's their broadcast.

Lol, Yankees broadcaster had to explain Paxton having a maple leaf tattoo because the maple leaf is on the Canadian flag, and then camera has to get a shot of the flag to prove it as the commentator confirmed it.

Speaking of ST, either a vendor loves his job or its 5pm in Florida already. Just randomly here a guy in the crowd going "BEER BEER BEER BEER BEER!"

Must be ST. Ugly baseball.

Pop fly to shallow LF.....he drops the ball! He picks it up, throws to 2B and batter gets gunned down trying to weakly stretch it out.

Not sure which part I love more... Tulo going deep in his first AB in like 2 years or the fact that it happened off of Stroman .

A part of me smiled. I like Stroman but the guy needs some humility. That should shut him up.

Also, it looks like Tulo is in pre-Blue Jays form. (yes it's very early but still) I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of Tulo giving it to the Jays "sigh"

I don’t care if anyone says it’s early or it’s just spring training or the pitchers he’s faced but seeing Buxton 5-5 with 2 homers and 10 rbi after 2 games brings a smile to my face to see something going right for him at the plate. Hopefully it’s gives him some confidence and gets him rolling. The talent is there it would be awesome to see it all come together this year.

Sort of unrelated, but I was watching the replay of the Twins-Nationals game the other day (yesterday?) and Max Kepler homered. The broadcasters (I think they were the Nats guys...and I agree with PhilliesFan13 that these guys are a rough listen) mentioned that Kepler is the most athletic player on the team. I almost threw the remote at the TV asking--to no one in particular--if they've ever heard of Byron Buxton...

Would be good for baseball to have Buxton fulfill his potential.

Yeah that’s a funny, that title definitely belongs to Buxton. Although if Buxton wasn’t around Kepler would be the Twins starting center fielder. I don’t dabble to much into defensive metrics but I believe Kepler grades out at an above average center fielder in the time he’s played there which has been a lot since Buxton has been hurt and struggled so much. But I may have heard wrong on that.
