Angels in the Outfield (1951)
Watching the original "Angels in the Outfield" now on some movie channel. It's not my favorite baseball movie, but I like old baseball movies that use real teams. This one is about the Pirates manager and there are a lot of scenes at Forbes Field. It's neat seeing them play against the Reds, Braves, Phillies, Cardinals, etc., and they show Sportsman's Park and the Polo Grounds.
It stars Janet Leigh, pre-Pyscho, and she is cute as hell. Damn, she's beautiful.
Joe DiMaggio and Ty Cobb make brief cameos.
Anyway, not as good as "Pride of the Yankees," in terms of old baseball movies, but I would definitely recommend.
