Re: 4/7 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread

Big day for me. I'm off to the Blue Jays home opener today which is the first home opener in Toronto in three years. It's also the first time I've been in Toronto since the pandemic started and I live less than 100 km away. (I've gone through it on the highway but haven't actually stopped in the city). Pretty crazy considering I use to live in Toronto.

It's also serves as a reminder of when I use to attend games with my late dad who went to the first Jays home opener in 1977.

Crazy fact: Jays have lost their last 10 homer openers including the past two years when they were held away from Toronto.

No Judge extension. They offered 7 years 30.5 per year and he turned it down. Can稚 even be mad at the offer, seems about right to me. Bummer to start Opening Day with this news but what can ya do? Guess he値l have to prove he痴 worth more.

I'm of the opinion Joey Votto needs to be mic'd up at least once a week. That was gold television. He talked about everything from strategy, how he changed his approach to hitting, his midlife crisis he's going through, and asking Ozzie Albies if he should get a diamond tooth (Ozzie said go for it lol)

Old heads on social media despised it, but younger people loved it. This is how we grow the game...go after the younger generation.

Like always, the new field is supposed to be better than before.

I think they've made it more of a fixture in the stadium since they're trying to make it more of a baseball stadium and less of a multi purpose venue.

Let's hope so. A better and safer field is good for the team. The dirt infield has helped lots with reducing injuries.
