Has anyone been watching the Magic/Pistons series or the Lakers/Wolves series? It's atrocious the way that they are being officiated. Clearly, the calls are one-sided... no one can deny this. Even the commentators are talking about how poor the refs have been.

Obviously, the NBA will make more money if the Lakers and Magic advance. They have marquee superstars, and that what the NBA is about today.

The NBA is turning into sports entertainment. Vince McMahon should be the new commissioner. Sorry NBA, you just lost a lifelong fan.

"I am surprised no one in the media has tried to do a report on the officiating. Maybe talk to some retired refs."

I am sure there is some sort of gag order in place that has banned any and all reporting on the officiating. That would only be the beginning of exposing the fraudulent practices of the "business." Why do you think anyone who questions it (Cuban, Riley) get fined out the wazoo? Isn't this America? What happened to free speech? And what gives the basketball anti-Christ David Stern the right to fine these people? How come in the REAL work world if you make a mistake let alone 10-20 a night you would find yourself without a job? Why isn't this the same for the NBA? It's just like the post office. They can have one counter open with a line 20 people deep all because they can, they know they are protected, and they know there is nothing anyone can or will do about it. Same with the refs. They will keep making bad call after bad call because it's all they know and have no fear for punishment or a loss of a job. Not only that but it seems to be encouraged by "the boss."

People around the world want to watch a superstar. Jordan had people all over watching, whether they were Bulls fans or not. Ratings for the Finals would be a lot higher if the Magic were in the finals rather than the Pistons or Pacers, and why not? T-Mac is amazing... who wouldn't want to watch him? So, higher ratings = more $$$. More $$$ = better for the NBA.

            That's all I meant.

LOL! So now the NBA is help Orlando win? LOL! TMAC was a star last year. Why didnt the refs help them last year? Its just a coincidence that your pistons are losing and now your complaining about the refs. The Refs had nothing to do with that 18-0 run the Magic went on.

Look, I'm a laker fan and I know my team gets some star treatment because of Shaq and Kobe. But every star gets that treatment. I'm seeing Garnett get it this year. Duncan, TMAC, Iverson....all stars get that treatment.

All I can say is that Shaq has at least 4 offensive fouls in each and every game he plays in, if the officials called him for them then he would be fouled out all the time and he wouldn't be as aggressive dunking-wise, the NBA officials know what they are doing, it is all about money - not about skills. This might as well eventually be the WWF.

/agree with the officiating in these game, when they aren't called fairly there is no point in playing or watching them.

So the officiating is the only reason why the Magic are up 3-1?? Not to be mean here sounds like you have some sour grapes here. Of course the world would rather see Tmac in the finals than any of the Piston players but to say the NBA is going out of its way to make this happen is ludacris. The last 2 years down here in Orlando we had to deal with losing 3-1 in the 1st Round. Remember all good players have to get buy certain teams or things before they can be successful in the playoffs. It happened to MJ with your Pistons and it happened to Shaq and Kobe too. This may sound a little cocky but teams in the East better get used to seeing the Magic do well in playoffs. Tmac is a primetime player who on just his skills alone can dominate a series. Wait till Gooden gets more experience and we finally dump Grant Hill and his mysterious ankle. II'm not in any way saying that we will make it to the FINALS this year but in the East who knows. But you can bank starting next year the Magic are gonna be a top team in the EAST for many more years to come.
