While I never "forgot" who played for the Wizards (and the biggest example is obviously widely known) and know the team's history fairly well, we have to have the best "not known for playing for them" team.

Stackhouse (really the 2 guard and I'm bumping Jordan to the 1 spot, but for effect)

The Dream played for Toronto Raptors.

That always blows my mind, should have been a Rocket for life.

Chauncey Billups was drafted by the Celtics, only lasted halfway to the season.

Good post. I never knew John Paxon played with the Spurs.
