At the time, yes it looked incredibly onesided, but in hindsight it was a "fair" trade by NBA standards.
You did not just say this? You can't be serious.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

The Jamison deal looked pretty Gasol-esque to me when it first went down, but Antawn has really fallen off in the last year or two. I thought that trade was gonna make the Cavs much, much better and they gave away hardly anything.

I think LeBron needs to go to a place with better coaching, wherever that may be. New Jersey seems out of the question since they're so bad right now. New York has D'Antoni, who a lot of people consider gimmicky. I don't even know who is coaching the Clippers. Miami is a possibility if Riley ends up there like he says he would do if it brought in free agents and Chicago is looking at Calipari (not that he's a good coach, just that LeBron and him are supposedly close).

Based on all the reports I'm hearing, as if they mean anything, I think LeBron in Chicago might be the best option considering their roster and coach candidates. That team has an established PG and is good at defense/rebounding, which is something that LeBron can work with. I think the guy wants to 1) play in a bigger market, 2) play on a championship team and 3) be the star of that team and Chicago allows all three of those things.

funny how someone voted for OKC. durant would have to play a custom
role or opt out if that happens.

You mean the same thing they are doing in cleveland right now? Your hate for that man crazy right now. We are in a lebron thread and before we make it to page 3 the man in LA is brought up. SMH. A toss up between Chicago and jersey (IMO).

Of course I hope he goes to New York, but my gut says he either stays in Cleveland or goes to Chicago. I just pray that the Knicks don't end up giving out a max contract to a second-tier free agent.

It's hard to say.

If the Nets get the first pick in the draft, then New Jersey.

If not New York.

So because the team with the best odds of getting the first pick in the draft hasn't in the past, I went with New York.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

Two weeks ago I thought there was no chance he was leaving Cleveland. Now I think there's no chance he stays. I still can't believe what we witnessed in the EC semis, just crazy.

Until someone gives me a logical explanation/plan of how the Knicks can afford LeBron and Bosh and still field a real 13-man squad I can't see how he's coming to NY. LeBron and Bosh joining Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, Curry and seven D-Leaguers/min-contract players just isn't going to happen.

I said in the other thread that if the Nets were already in Brooklyn then I would consider them the favorites by a good margin. I'm not sure it's the best destination for him though, we have no idea if Lopez is a true "Robin" yet, we don't know if they will win the lottery and I'm not sold on John Wall being a great NBA player anyway. They have $22m on the books next year, if it's the $56m cap and they have $34m to go after LeBron and Bosh it could be scary. The big detractor here is obviously the location of the franchise and the coaching situation.

Chicago needs to find some way to acquire Bosh or they are not in the running IMO (yes, my stance changed from last night already lol).

So as of May 14th and where things stand now, I'm going with the Nets.
