32, almost 33 years old now...haven't played even half-court since I was probably 29 or 30. I'm about 20 lbs heavier now and not in a good way.

I'm short and big, built like a linebacker but only like 5'10"ish in shoes. But I was a point guard and a shooter before I ever got big, so I use that to my advantage cause people look at me and just think I'm that guy who played football and was athletic but uncoordinated. So I always played a lot on the baseline backing guys down and had perfected the spin to the baseline for the easy layup. Well when I tried that 2x this past Sunday, the first time the ball stayed and I went to the floor, lol...and the second time I dribbled the ball off my feet.

So then I decided just to go back to bully-ball cause I never would come across anyone that could match my strength (guess who inspired that part of my game?). So I was getting through or past guys every time but then that's when I discovered I don't have the same lift anymore...and I must've missed 6-7 layups. It was horrendous.

It was definitely an eye-opening experience...in warmups I was shooting like I had never stopped and felt good but man once I played an actual 4v4 halfcourt game...humbled to say the least. This aging stuff sucks!
I hate to say it but if you think it's bad at 32 just wait another few years.

I'm about to turn 40 and still play quite a bit. My job built us a gym with a basketball court a few years ago. Which is great but the bad thing is that there's only a handful of us old guys left. The rest is pretty much interns who come in, get trained, then go out in the field, rinse and repeat. So I'm like Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused when he said "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age." just insert 21-25 year-old interns in the place of high school girls

Not to mention, if I ever do take a few weeks off its hell get back into playing shape.... and with every passing year getting the weight off just gets harder and harder. At 32 if I wanted to bust down 20 pounds, I pretty much could without much effort.... At 39, not so much.

The PG4's are around $60-70 depending on the colorway at Finish Line. Ya'll know how I feel about PG's.

Best Bball shoe on the market IMO. (I know most of us aren't playing ball right now lol)

I'd get them a half size up though.

Re: The worst pick up players.

Are they on sale or something because his shoes usually go for $110??

Depending on the colorway, I might have to jump on that deal...

They've been on/off sale the last couple of weeks, not sure why, but its a good look. The white/black colorway is $60. I have them.

You hold that opinion for his entire collection? Or just the 4s?

Whole collection is solid IMO. Can't go wrong 1-4. The post- Zion incident PGs tend to be a little bit more snug.

The 3's are my personal favorite though.

Re: The worst pick up players.

Surprisingly, the KD 12s aren’t a bad shoe to hoop in as well. Definitely much improved from the 10s and 11s.

Brons are still heavy as **** to play ball in, lol.

Don't own a pair. I've heard a lot of good things about the KD12's.

LeBrons are definitely heavy but I feel so damn protected in them, lol

I decided to be adventurous this morning and hoop in my Harden 4's...they're on the opposite end of the spectrum. Super light.
