I would guess that's what they're thinking, and I agree that it seems impossible that any organization would trade for him given that contract.

Why the f would the Clippers, Nets, Pistons and Bucks be interested in Caron?

Me too. I always liked teaming up 2 great players then instead of using another 10-15 mil on another All-star, spread that out on 1-3 other good players.

I don't see why they should wait untill after there prime to team up and wonder "what if we had been on team this good earlier?".

Because Caron is a better player (when healthy) then whoever all their SFs are.

Someone's gonna waste money on a gimpy Caron, a gimpy Josh Howard and a gimpy Michael Redd.

I'd stay as far away from those guys.

Caron's best days are behind him, and there's no way he should sign with a rebuilding team and waste the remainder of his career not trying to get a title.

That's not to say he can't still be productive, and help a team out. Hopefully he chooses a playoff team and not someone like the Pistons.

If the Pacers are serious about offering Gasol, what would they do with Hibbert? Would Stuckey + 1st be enough?

I'm really interested to see what kind of market there will be for Howard & Redd. Howard is only 29, but Redd is over 30. I'd take a one year flier on either guy, at around $3-4 million or so, nothing more.

Yeah. Caron Butler definitely isn't a block to build around, but he can still help plenty of teams. Really just depends on how his rehabilitation process has been, I imagine he understands what his role(s) will look like going forward.

Makes me wonder how bad (if at all) the lockout hampered guys trying to nurse injuries considering guys were pulled away from the team trainers and such.
