Re: Possible Breakout Teams

Guys like Anthony Randolph and Wes Johnson are going to have to really step up if the T'Wolves want to have a good year. Same goes for Beasley.

For me though, I think the Warriors will sneak into the playoffs with this group. I like the Mark Jackson hire, I think he's going to really be able to motivate them on the defensive end of the ball. We'll have to wait and see though.

They also just picked up Kwame Brown for $7M? lol. I'm guessing he'll be backing up Biedrins, or maybe even starting. Depends on how Udoh improves. Their front line and their depth scares me, but a core of Ellis, Curry, and Lee, this season should be enough to get them in.

T-Wolves.

Team has a lot of talent and potential, but can they put it all together? Can RA get them to gel?

I cannot wait to see Love in RA's system.
I agree. If they can gel, I think they could be a pretty good team.

No way Caron stays healthy for a whole season..

Way to go out on a limb there.

Guess we should define breakout. Like make a deep run in the playoffs breakout? Or return from irrelevancy to snag a playoff spot?

As far as snagging a spot, something tells me the T-Wolves are going to shock some people and snag the 7th-8th spot. I really like the RA hire. Love is about as consistent as they come and their length is going to be a nice advantage for them, especially if they can gel.

Making a deep run? Grizzlies. Deeper than last year. I'm thinking it will be them and the Thunder in the WCF. If Gay can stay healthy, look out.

Re: Possible Breakout Teams

Pacers will get 4-6 seed this year. Grizzlies with a healthy Rudy become a top 4-5 seed. I've already said my peace about the Timberwolves believe me if anyone can coach a bunch of misfits it's Adelman he coach my Rockets team that was held together with spit and rubberbands to decent records, now he has a team with better all around talent.

Re: Possible Breakout Teams

The T Wolves have the ability to be a great team if they can put it together, they're absolutely loaded with raw physical talent. Randolph, Williams, Beasley, Johnson and even Rubio all hold the possibility of becoming stars one day along with Love who's already shown what he can do at the top level. They need to work on their defense, Williams will have to learn how to defend effectively on the perimeter against NBA wings and Beasley needs to work harder defending the post as does Love.

They have one thing you can't teach and that's size. Their lineup could go like this,

PG - Rubio (6 4)
SG - Johnson (6 7)
SF - Williams (6 9)
PF - Beasley (6 10)
C - Love (6 10)

You can also rotate Darko, a legit 7' Center, Randolph (6 11 and LONG), Slide Beasley to the 3 etc. As physically talented as anyone in the league, hope they can put it together because they could be fun to watch if they figure out how to play efficiently in the half court.

But, this season? Watch out for the Trail Blazers, perennial contenders, I think they make a push this year in the playoffs.
