Re: 2013 Western Conf. Finals: San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies

I really do think the Grizz will win this series. The spurs often looked tired against GSW, and the rough and rugged play from the Grizz would take even more energy out of them.

When GSW had it's success against the Spurs, it was when they were attacking the rim and getting baskets inside. The Spurs had a lot of trouble securing defensive rebounds, and were even giving up boards to the smaller Landry. There were times where the Spurs just couldn't handle Landry down low and were giving up and one's. Z-bo will give the Spurs all sorts of trouble in the paint.

The Spurs offense often came from creating space from the high pick and roll, leading to Parker drive or jumpshot, or finding Leonard/Green/Neal out on the 3-pt line. I feel the Grizzlies are much more suited to defending this than the Warriors were (problems came from Curry defending Leonard/Green) as there is no obvious mismatches.

The Spurs also got a lot of production from Duncan, and to a lesser extent Splitter. But that was against an injured Bogut & Lee, rookie Ezeli, and occasionally Beidrins. The Grizz are much stronger inside (are healthy too) and will make it very hard for the Spurs down low. Splitter can get put off when it gets too physical, and Gasol won't fall for Duncan's crafty veteran moves like Ezeli did.

Grizzlies in 6.

Re: 2013 Western Conf. Finals: San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies

I always like the late start times. It works better with my work schedule and gives me time to get to the gym and home before games start.

I think that's why I typically see more Western Conference games even outside of the Lakers playing. After LA was dropped, I still caught most WC games and missed most of the Eastern Conference games.

I could def. see how inconvenient it is for some, though.

Pulling for the Grizzlies. I like the way they matchup with The Heat on paper, assuming that's who comes out of the East. I don't mean to write off The Pacers or Knicks, but it's not looking good for either.. as someone else has mentioned all ready.. **** the Spurs.

Tony Allen has to be on Danny Green and Manu Ginobili. C'Mon Grizzlies can win in 6 or 7

Hate to say it, but Grizzlies in 6.

I think this series will rely heavily on who can rebound more, and I think the Grizzlies are better suited to win that battle. However, I can see the Grizzlies offense stalling against the interior defense of SA.

Grizzlies win in a very tough 6 where homecourt doesn't matter at all.

I learned my lesson to never count the Spurs out last series by picking California to win the last series... No more predictions from me.

couple of questions here..

cant conley guard parker by himself?

also, even tho parker is the sparkplug of team that gets everything going; since he joined the team, seems like ginobli is always the deciding factor on whether or not the spurs win a championship or not.

i could be mistaken but doesnt it follow that when ginobli is healthy in the playoffs, the spurs accomplish big things. and when he is unhealthy or limited they dont? that is the spurs history right, with him on the team?

if so, i would you want allen on ginobli, because conley cant guard him at all.

edit: give me grizz in 7
