Personally, I just picked by watching them play. I tended to pick players on the top defensive teams but I didn't go looking into any advanced stats or anything like that.

I picked Draymond because I feel he's this years defensive player of the year. Kawhi because he brings it every night on that end and gives all elite scorers problems. Jordan because I feel he's the best all around defensive big, and a defensive rebounding machine.. He doesn't give second points and his man usually doesn't score much.

The guards it's up in the air, because I don't feel like any PG or SG in the league is really a true "lock down" guy.. Tony Allen is probably the closest but still has problem with size and elite quickness.. So picked him. A fair alternate would probably be Khris Middleton.. And for the point guard spot I feel like Russ is the best at putting pressure on other guards and forcing them into mistakes (even though he gambles). Among the league leaders in steals and the best point guard out in the passing lanes IMO..

My other votes at the guard spot would probably be Teague, Lowry, Carter-Williams, Conley.

Rubio missed too many games, Livingston and Cory Joseph don't play enough minutes, and Jimmy Butler's overall defensive consistency was off this year same goes for CP3.

The 3-5 spot to me are a lock by a pretty good sized margin to me.

If I had to make a defensive 2nd team I would probably go: Teague/Conley, Middleton, Butler, Davis, Gobert/Bogut
