Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

So how long before reports come out that Paul George pulls a Melo and just demands a trade to LA thru his "sources"?

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

Supposedly he's a Clippers fan, not a Lakers fan.

Some Lakers fans say why should they give up any of their young players, just wait a year to sign him in free agency.

I'm not sure he would make the Lakers better than the Pacers with him.

Lakers are a bad defensive team, like the Pacers. But Teague is a pretty effective PG. Miles Turner didn't have the greatest series against the Cavs but you would expect him to improve, though he needs better coaching than McMillan.

2017 Offseason Thread

I honestly think the PG to the Lakers thing is just a media driven story and the fact that obviously the Lakers are pursuing stars. I don't see why he'd actually go there right now. For one he grew up a Clippers fan, not a Lakers fan like the media wants to say. Also he has repeatedly said he wants to win and will stay in Indy if Bird can give him a team that can compete. So why would he go to LA when they need more than just him to become contenders and the path to the Finals is harder out West.

If he does leave the best bet is Boston or possibly OKC. Washington?

That's really unfortunate. Thought you guys would take the next step this year and be where Washington is at.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

With Grizzlies season over, is this the end of Vince Carter or might he play more seasons?

Biasedly I'd want him on Raptors so he can play out his final season here and make everything come full circle.

But if he wants a championship, Warriors is team I'd wanna see him join. Being on that Warriors team with Steph, the kid who he used to play against during Raptors shootarounds, I think that would be a cool ending for his career too, especially if they win NBA title.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

Grizzlies rely on old players too much. ZBo was one of their best players at age 35 or 36. Gasol is 32 and Tony Allen is also way up there.

They have two big contracts for Conley and Gasol and only have a first-round exit to show for it.

They have to re-sign Green and look to add younger scorers.

I guess their problem is that their draft picks other than Conley haven't panned out in the last 5 years.
