Perfectly said. I will say it was a learning experience though.

Q: If a player throws the ball full court in an attempt to beat the buzzer at the end of a quarter, and the ball bounces before time expired, and then goes in after time expires, does it count? What about if it bounces after time expires and then goes in? And if it counts, is it a two- or a three-point shot if it bounced within the three-point arc? - submitted by Will

A: Wow, that would be something to see. Yes, if the ball bounces before time expired, and then goes in after time expires, it would count. If the ball bounces inside the arc, it would count as a two-point field goal. If the ball bounces outside the arc, it would count as a three-point field goal.

However, if time expires before the ball bounces, the shot would not count. Once a shot attempt no longer has an opportunity to score (notwithstanding miracles), it's no longer considered a shot and the game would be over before the ball bounces.
Hahahaha "I've been waiting for this one"

I asked this question when I was super young. I didn't get it answered until college. I entered this training to be an high school ref. That was the first question I asked lol

Go from Marc Davis on Wednesday to the Tony Brothers crew tonight.......

Brothers crew are all in top 3 for fouls called per 48 mins.

Someone's definitely getting fouled out tonight, and we're seeing multiple technicals

Hmmm.. If a shot can count off the bounce it's confusing to me when it wouldn't count if the buzzer had already sounded. A normal shot would, so I fail to see the difference there. Strange

Thanks for the info though.

I think the reasoning is the bounce is considered as the player shooting if that makes sense. If the bounce happens before the buzzer it's the same as the ball leaving your finger tips before the buzzer, likewise if the bounce as in the contact with the court is after it's like if you release after the buzzer has sounded if that makes any sense. You can see in how he specifically draws to how if the ball itself bounces before the buzzer so it's safe to say that contacting the court is equated to leaving a player's hand.

Why are they talking about the Lakers during the halftime of an east coast game?

ESPN is hot garbage
