Yeah, in this case Penny pretty much handed the kid an envelope of cash in exchange for him playing at Memphis. This is like the most obvious case of illegally lying a recruit we’ve ever had.

The blue bloods at least make it difficult to follow the money back to the source so they get away with it. In this case it was literally the head coach paying the family.

Like we all know Duke paid Zion to go there but they cover their tracks. Memphis didn’t and now they got ****ed because of it.

How much are people going to freak out if/when the Warriors wind up with the #1 pick, and then go into next season with a returning and healthy Steph/Klay as well as a top pick on that roster?

Or even simply go the LAL route and deal their top pick for a superstar.

Sure, that guy will be no KD, but could next years Warriors have a better starting lineup than their previous non KD teams?

They absolutely can because they could also swing DLo for another first round pick and probably a couple guys that compliment Steph-Klay-Dray very well also..

I think they have until Dec 15th? I believe the most likely scenario for them is playing the young guys a bunch of minutes and deciding which of them looks like they can be good role players moving forward.. Gauge DLo's trade value, and also determine if keeping him and running Klay at the 3 makes sense as well.
