Detroit and Phoenix are discussing a deal centered on guard Luke Kennard, league sources tell ESPN. Suns' first-round pick is in play. Kennard has missed 22 straight games with bilateral knee tendinitis.

@wojespn

Possible package gaining traction for Kennard, per sources: Jevon Carter, Elie Okobo and a first-round pick. Suns imagine Kennard as a 30 minute-plus per game floor spacer to complement Devin Booker, Kelly Oubre, Jr., and Ricky Rubio.

Steve Mills has been fired by the Knicks! Hallelujah. Curious timing but whatever. Get this dude out of here.

But couldn’t they move him for the same deal in the offseason?

It makes more sense for them to see what they have and how it works with the other key parts before moving on.

They could, but after a certain date his contract counts which means that massive repeater tax where they would be paying well over 100 mil in taxes.. I don't remember the exact date but it was the same issue the Lakers ran into with trying to trade for AD if I'm not mistaken.

That's interesting I hadn't heard that about the date on Dlo. I know this offseason the GSW were almost hard capped. If your looking ahead they will have a rookie top 10 draft pick so that's what about 7 million $. They have over 10 million more in raises for the big 4. Its going to be hard for them to have any kind of bench.

Right but by that date, which I’m guessing is in the offseason or prior to the start of next season, he’ll be gone by then either way.

Adrian Wojnarowski

@wojespn

ESPN Sources: Minnesota orchestrating three-team trade talks with Houston and Atlanta -- with hopes of ultimately turning discussions into a four-way deal that brings Golden State G D'Angelo Russell to Timberwolves.
