The financial cost is a big reason there is the expectation, according to sources, that the current season will resume at a later date, even if that means the 2020-21 season starts later than expected.

Maybe I shouldn't rush to judgement but emotions are right now but man this really sucks on so many levels

A) Both are Jazz reporters who use those microphones/are in the same room as Gobert during interviews.

B) Gobert likely would have spread the virus more through speaking into the mic than physically grab them after he received strict instruction to frequently wash and sanitize his hands. He didn't know he had the virus, and it's nearly impossible that he contracted it through the microphones considering it typically takes 3-7 days for the virus to incubate. He touched them on Monday and began showing symptoms Tuesday night.

C) The Jazz were in New York City last week, one of the biggest travel hubs in the world. He could have contracted it from there, or elsewhere, who knows.

D) He's a guy in his 20s trying to make people laugh in an uncomfortable situation. Touching the microphones like that was dumb but people really acting like the dude is dropping COVID19 bombs from the rafters.

E) He came in contact with the entire Raptors team Monday, should he be crucified for that too?

Dude is sick with a virus that we still have limited knowledge about, a virus so serious that the NBA shut the league down. And your first reaction is to say, "That's karma for touching those microphones in a joking manner!"

Re: NBA indefinitely suspends season after Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test

Well, according to Wikipedia (never wrong!) the playoffs were scheduled to begin on April 18, 2020. Last season the Finals ended on June 13, 2019. Last free agency began on June 30, 2019. This season began on October 18, 2019.

There is time somewhere right there; that whole thing we discussed about starting the season on December so the NBA competes less with the NFL? We may see it this year in practice.

The thing that is going to get ****ed over (probably) is Olympic Basketball (not even talking about the Olympics at large which is another issue). I mean, short offseason and playing in the Olympics? Ummm...

Re: NBA indefinitely suspends season after Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test

NBA owners and executives have slammed league office with a myriad of procedural and bigger picture questions. The league’s response: Sit tight until Thursday and let us work through it all. Some teams are planning to close facilities today and give players a couple of days away.

At the arena, wearing blue medical gloves on their hands, Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson emerged briefly to talk on the court, but quickly returned to the locker room. The results of the test would take up to four hours to come back, with next steps to be determined from there.

Taking into account everything that is going on, the NBA has their **** together. 4 hours or less for test results? Nice.

I'm hoping we have a better handle on everything concerning this virus in a month or so. At least enough to somewhat resume regular activities. I mean, its here already, it's a part of life now.
